We’ve all been there on a cold day: counting the chairlift towers remaining, wondering how much longer we’ll have to tolerate the blasting gusts before we can turn around and make turns in windblown powder (because of course it’s worth it). We’ve updated our Stormbound Jacket to stand up to cold days: full Primaloft Silver Down Blend insulation throughout (equivalent to 650-fill down, but more water resistance) and for the worst weather, a hideaway balaclava pops out of an interior pocket in the back.

Awesome for snowboarding.

Wore this jacket while snowboarding during a almost white out blizzard. Keep me warm without overheating, dried very quickly, and kept the rain out when conditions changed.

Very warm for wild weather

I love this jacket. I needed a ski jacket that was more then a ski jacket. I needed a jacket that was also very warm. When you first put on the jacket I questioned the warmth because of its thickness, but this jacket truly is warm. It has some great functional features like pit zips that help me cool off. My one comment is it was a little tight on my chest compared to a few other OR jackets I own which make layering a little difficult. I love this jacket. I don't ski often, but when I do this is the jacket I go for. I also frequently grab this jacket when i am off the slopes on the freezing days. No wind gets through this jacket. I love this jacket and would recommend it.

I would recommend this product

I bought this as a jacket for the Saskatoon winter and outdoor activities. I was a little worried at first with how thin and light the jacket is; however, it performs well down to -30C and still kept me warm in the -41C windchill. A minor criticism is that the zippers are a bit difficult to use. Overall, I think this is a very good jacket which deals with very cold temperatures without being bulky.

One for the quiver; Inferno may have been a better name!

I've owned this jacket for a few years now and, while I usually go with a multi-level layering approach using my Furio shell, I grab my Stormbound for the bitter cold days on the slopes. This jacket is bomber and like wrapping a 0 degree down sleeping bag around your torso. I find that wearing a base layer tee, my Radiant Hoodie, and the Stormbound keeps me snug and toasty on the coldest, windiest, and wettest chairlift rides. I've had this out on some pretty wet PNW days, and stayed completely dry. The myriad zips allow for ventilation when working hard for turns and the ample pockets keep all my gear stored. The little details are awesome too - Recco integration, pass pocket, zip-out balaclava, removable pow-skirt. This jacket may be too warm at times since the down really does it's job. If I'm skinning in the B/C, again, I'll opt for a more layerable system. But when I need to be warm and dry, the Stormbound delivers.
