RATING AND REVIEWS

Great shirt!

Picked up this shirt for a Grand Canyon river trip and it was great! I wanted something lightweight to wear for sun protection and it held up great. The fabric has some stretch to it which was awesome for rowing as well as hikes.

Sun shirt

The shirt is a bit thin for me but we will see how it holds up as a fishing shirt this season. Also the chest and arms fit nice but a bit more length on the shirt would be a plus for this shirt

Lightweight and stretchy

I have the short sleeve version of this shirt as well. It is good for hot weather, but I find that it doesn't breathe real well and can feel sticky if I exercise.

GREAT SHIRT WASH AFTER WEARING ONCE

SHIRT WEARS AND FEELS GREAT, HOWEVER AFTER ONE DAY OF WEARING THE SHIRT SMELLS BAD. OTHER O.D. SHIRT I BOUGHT (MENS BAJA) (S17 250112) DOES NOT HAVE THAT CHARACTERISTIC.

Great guide shirt

My husband loves this shirt! It's become his favorite guide shirt this summer - great all around with the design/color (he has the peacock), lightweightness, and super soft fabric. Would love a similar shirt for women! :)

Great Shirt

I wore this shirt for a recent ascent to Golden Ears Provincial Park, in British Columbia Canada. 24km hike, 1500m elevation, 30lbs of pack weight (used the Osprey Atmos 65 AG Pack), in sunny 80F temps. The shirt was great! light fabric was very durable, protected me from twigs, bushes, was very quick drying.

I was in need of a long-sleeve shirt that I could wear in warm weather, mostly for bugs, but occasionally for sun exposure. I sweat a lot so I wanted to make sure it was a light breathable material that dries fast. The Astroman exceeded my expectations. The material of the Astroman is unlike anything else I have in my closet. In the shade, I actually feel cooler wearing the long-sleeve Astroman than with a lot of my short sleeve shirts, including breathable and vented polyester shirts. It is featherlight, soft as silk, and stretchy. I have some tactile sensitivity, so I don't like rough/textured fabrics. Putting on the Astroman is like therapy - it's instantly relaxing, not far off from the sensation of wearing nothing. My main complaint: Given that this is a "sun shirt", I would expect more light colored options - All but one of the current options are relatively dark and absorb light. The steel blue one can get warm if I'm in direct sunlight without a breeze. Also, I wouldn't mind having buttons to keep the sleeves up, but the elastic material stays put pretty well on its own. Sizing/Fit: I am 6' 2", 195 lbs, slim/athletic build and long-limbed. Torso-wise, mediums often fit me well, but I need a large for long sleeves. In this case, the L fits well. The sleeves are just right, though the torso is a bit looser than I'm used to. The length of the shirt seems just about right.

This was supposed to be my backup shirt

I was going to wear a different shirt on my last bikepacking ride. This was supposed to be my shirt if I needed to look presentable on a pitstop. Never in a million years would I envision wearing a LONG-SLEEVED shirt on a two day trip in August in New Mexico. But it protected me from the sun, felt very light and cool, dealt with the sweat and didn't smell after the trip. This will be my new go-to shirt on long rides.

Supreme versatility

5

This is an interesting shirt, different from any I have owned. It is a woven button up style in a fairly traditional looking plaid, but it is very light and stretchy. I have not yet worn it extensively, but it seems ideal for wearing as either a casual or active shirt, I find this particularly handy as we travel a lot and it's nice to have shirt do double duty for town and country. The fit on the shirt is slim, which is fine for my slim build, but it you are stocky or want a looser fit then I'd suggest you order up a size. The features are minimal with a single pocket and the sun collar, but this helps keep it light and breathable. Haven't used the sun collar, but it seems a useful if a bit fiddly to snap. Not sure about durability, as it is a light fabric, but it seems pretty tough, almost a feather weight stretch woven feel.

I have the short sleeve version and like it so much I got the long sleeve one. Looks great, super fit and very lightweight. Perfect for hot weather travel!
