Mitts for Cold Weather

5

I needed to go to a mitten, vs a fingered gloves due to reduce circulation in my fingers (fingers get cold) when out hiking in winter weather in the Denver area. I looked at several brands and styles, but went back to the OR Stormbound Mtt, due to the duel insulation material. I have been out hiking in the cold and these mitts are excellent for me, warn and breathable.

Narrow Fit

Sized as unisex, but definitely closer to ladies fit. Runs quite narrow, and this from a guy with small hands. Too bad cuz it is quite a warm mitt and a hard to find under cuff style.

Wonderful product!!

I've taken these mitts on a few ski tours and they hold up well! They are warm and waterproof, perfect for my needs! They have become popular around the house for day to day as well, its a competition between my wife and I as to who gets them first.

Warm and waterproof

Got these gloves for skiing, they are the warmest best gloves I have ever owned. I have arthritis really bad in one hand and it freezes super fast. These gloves keep my hands toasty warm. These are a true home run thanks OR!

To date, I've been using these mittens in the low teens range while snowboarding and skiing, and they've kept my hands warm.

Very warm!

These gloves are super warm! So much so that as someone who always has cold hands I have now found a new issue of sweaty hands! These don't breathe very well, so if you plan on having only 1 pair of gloves, these gloves are far to warm for the hike up if you plan to ski tour with them.

Awesome mitts

Super warm and comfortable! I always have issues with cold hands especially ice climbing. These are great for belaying or hanging around waiting while others climb.

Sizing seemed off. Mitts seem great.

I bought these as a cold weather ski gloves and consider myself to have cold hands in general, but not to a clinical degree that some others are mentioning. I had to return/exchange them for a larger size so I will re-review them when I get the replacement and can actually test them. The fabrics and insulation seem perfect for me. They are light, compressible, stylish and I have experience with the fabrics and insulation so I trust them to be warm and dry. The materials don't seem super durable, but there is leather in the areas that need extra durability so I think they will hold up fine (if they don't i know OR will treat me right). They do have finger dividers in the mitt which I thought was a little odd. It can make it so sometimes it is hard to get your hand in the "glove" right, but all in all I think they are OK. The major issue was with fit, which I totally was not expecting as I have two other OR gloves that fit great and are even a little long and wide for me, and have tried others on in the store. I got the same size in these and they are really snug laterally, and too short, especially when I try to grip a pole (fingers jam at the end). So they went back and I'll see how things go with one size up. I think I'll be happy with these after it's all said and done. Price could be a little lower but seems fair enough if they perform as expected.

How to measure

Measure around a flat hand at the knuckles,do not include your thumb. Also measure your hand length from the base of your palm to the end of your middle finger. Use the larger of the two measurements to select your glove size.
