This cap is great for walking outdoors in inclement weather, best suited for fall/winter/spring conditions. Ear flaps are very handy in cold, windy weather. The GoreTex shell makes a great windbreaker and the microfiber liner provides good insulation. However, the microfiber liner makes it rather warm for summer wear. Even so, sweat doesn't seem to soak through and make salt rings like it does with cotton caps The GoreTex outer layer seems to stay clean much longer than cotton. Cap stays put in windy conditions, and there is a tension strap on the back to adjust snugness. I like to wear this cap with a hooded jacket because the brim keeps the hood out of my eyesight, while the hood keeps rain off my neck.
