This jacket is perfect for running, climbing and biking on a cold blustery day. The outer fabric protects you from the elements, yet it breathes well as your heart rate rises. The inner liner is warm and cozy, and does not trap moisture when I am pushing myself. This jacket is my go to in the spring and fall.

This layer is one that I can rely on for all seasons. The active insulation technology means that I can move around in it-- hiking, skiing, approaching climbs, what-have-you-- without getting sweaty. When I stop, that same insulation keeps me warm and comfortable, even if it's windy and cold. It's nice and soft on the inside too, and after wearing my Ascendant several times a week for the past several months, the insulation doesn't seem to be wearing or packing at all.

This layers well, and has accessible (and soft!) pockets to stuff your hands in when it's a bit chilly. The hood cinches well over your head, a hat, or a helmet. All in all really impressed by this piece.

I have the vest version of the Ascendent jacket and it's a great layering piece or something to add for a little extra warmth. The inside is soft and fuzzy and the outside is water/wind resistant fabric that's smooth, quiet and breathable. Mine is a size medium (I'm almost always a true medium in tops) and it fits well though if you're between sizes, maybe size down. Such a nice vest/jacket for variable conditions but especially cold, damp conditions!

I ordered a size medium and it fits great! I'm 5'9" and 125 pounds. The sleeves are just long enough. I find myself reaching for this jacket all the time. Water resistant and wind resistant, this jacket will keep you warm and dry. I use it on alpine climbs or if I'm out for a hike. I have even used it as a layer for ice climbing. The fabric moves with you and is super breathable. I love the fuzzy fabric lining the inside. The zip pocket is perfect for my phone and the pockets for your hands are lined with the softest fabric, so I can warm my hand up on the move. It is the perfect jacket on a cold early spring morning when there is a chance of rain. This Jacket can do it all!

In twenty-five years of ice climbing, this is the first jacket that has never come out of my harness. Fabric moves and stretches with your movements, and packs more warmth for its weight than any jacket I have ever owned. It breathes really well; wicking moisture even in times of high exertion. It's versatile; I wear it with a wool base layer for ice climbing and a quick-dry shirt for rock climbing. Hood fits perfectly over a helmet.

I've had this jacket now for both winter and summer activities, and can't say enough good about it. It is an insanely warm and windproof layer, and I've used it as an outer layer while skiing. It breathes so well while skinning uphill. Add to that, it's incredibly comfortable!!

The Ascendant is my "go to" light weight, hooded jacket when I am rock climbing, hiking and mountain biking. The fit is perfect (I am a true medium) and it does the job of keeping me warm (but not too warm on the uphills.) The fitted hood is great...fits inside my climbing and biking helmets. The Ascendant Jacket is so awesome that I don't even need to wear it. I just feel safer when it is with me in my pack!

I purchased the Ascendant Hoody couple of weeks ago and took it with me on a camping/hiking trip. It's safe to say that I have put it through the wringer!
It is the best multi function jacket I've ever had. Great wind/rain/snow block with just the right amount of insulation, but breathable. Did I mention cozy and warm but breathable!!!
I'm 5'8", 135lbs and the size Medium is perfect. Normally I would prefer something little more fitted, but this jacket is very soft and doesn't feel bulky at all. And I have room to layer under it if needed.
I love the longer cut of it. The back stays nicely protected while you are active.
Great functional, actually comfortable hood too.
At first the sleeves felt little too wide, but I have soon learned that because the material is so soft they are very comfortable that way.
I wasn't sure about the hand pockets without zippers, but the angle/depth is executed perfectly so no need to fear for things to fall out.
I do appreciate very much the zipper chest pocket though.
I like the length of the sleeves, but the sleeve cuffs are little too wide so they fall over the wrists and get in a way.
The outside fabric seems to hold up the abuse pretty well (only minor "discolored scratches" from shoulder and waist straps of my pack).
The fuzzy, SOFT inside fabric feels fabulous even without long sleeve base layer (can't say that about many jackets), but it seems to snag easily.
