Tested for a week in late November on Lake Ontario, Canada. On the water all day in wind, rain, waves and spray in near freezing temps. Mitts kept my hands dry and warm all day. Long adjustable cuffs help keep water out while wearing a dry-suit. Loss of dexterity with fingers as you cannot operate zippers, but this is a very small trade-off for being warm. Some water would eventually leak in through the cuff, but even when damp hands were still warm. Excellent go to choice for extreme wet and cold conditions.
