Very comfortable and very warm

I love how this jacket fits. Very warm so far this fall. Got to experience the warmth on a 9 degree morning and was not disappointed at all.

Great light layer jacket!

While I accidentally purchased this jacket thinking it was a down filled light jacket, I am still happy with it! It is great as both a layer and an outer. It is lightweight and not bulky so it fits nicely under a shell. It's good fit and cut makes for a nice outer for everything from climbing, hiking and training exercises to more casual outings like walking the dog or hitting up a local pub!

Love this jacket

Use for fitness, works well in a wide range of temperatures and conditions. The inner terry cloth type lining is amazing, comfortable, great after workouts.

Fantastic product, this is my second one!

Great for high aerobic activities, breathes extremely well. Reasonably warm as a layer, good wind resistance, very light. Some have commented about the lack of pocket zippers, but I don't have a problem with this. The shape of the pocket opening makes the pockets fairly secure. Great for skinning.

love this jacket

this is great jacket. It is very light but incredibly warm. this is my everyday jacket both in the city and in the mountains

Best midlayer ever!

From freezing cold ice climbing days to spring ski days the Ascendant was the perfect mid layer. My next to skin layer would change depending on the day however the Ascendant always played its part in providing warmth and breathability.

Love My Jacket

This jacket is light but warm. Hardly feels like you are wearing a jacket. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Nearly the perfect Colorado light acket, but has fatal flaw

I have been looking for the perfect Colorado jacket-- light, packable, wind-proof, water-resistant, and warm enough to work in chillier mornings jogging, hiking, warm weather skiing, wearing to work. This jacket is so close, but there is one fatal flaws and one problem. The pros-- I like the slim fit, light weight, and the fact that it is packable. It works really well across a range of temperatures teens - forties. The Fatal Flaw: The two hand pockets do not have zippers. It only has one zipped pocket, this is big enough for a phone, but not much else. The have a clip for key in the non-zipped pocket, but this doesn't really work, key flops out when running. This means you can't ski in the jacket. It also reduces its usefulness as a casual jacket for taking hikes with the kids, where do you keep the snacks? The negative: It could be more windproof. The wind cuts through the non-zipped pockets and elbows. This also makes it less useful for biking and skiing. I am not expecting gore wind-stopper, but the inconsistency in wind protection is marked. So in the end, this is so close, I am still looking for the perfect Colorado light jacket.

Very nice peace for all sorts of activity

Great jacket and I do have the Vest as well. At first I was a little worried as it is a little bulky but that is not so . It packs well too. The best is that it is great for all sorts of activities from climbing to skiing. Great pocket placement and feels really good with the inside being like fleece. The outside makes no noise while moving and I do like that. For cons I said not waterproof, but it is not meant to be waterproof, it is windproof and that is great.

Is this jacket able to be packed down to a small size for travel?

Nick, the ascendant does pack down pretty small for a synthetic insulation layer, think a nalgene size

I have yet to find the key clip. where is it??

Hi Lee, The key clip is located inside the left hand pocket. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

Are the external pockets with zippers? Prior description said no zippers, now pictures look like zippers.

Hi Gustav, Sorry for the late response. The hand pockets do not have zippers The only zippered pocket is the chest pocket. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul
