Excellent all weather pants!

These are my wet weather, cold weather, raining, muddy, everything mountain biking pants. The material is tough, and the construction is excellent. I have a 1.5 year old, and a 2 old month pair, just so I always have a dry set for the next day. I need weather resistance and breathability and these provide that perfectly. Both pairs have been involved in various "I am no longer on my bike" incedents and have come out without damage, they are really adding an excellent layer of abrasion protection for my legs. Fit for me is trim through the butt and thighs, with enough space at the knee to run some light pads underneath, the calf is loose enough to not look like tights and does not interfere with the drivetrain at all. I am 6' 1" and 165 lbs. These are excellent do anything outdoor adventure pants.

Good Pants for daily use

I bought these for daily use as a guid in Yellowstone. They fit great, and with a base laye underneath are plenty warm down to 8 degrees F so far. I like the trim fit, but if you prefer bulky clothing you may not. My only complaint is there is only one cargo pocket, located on the right. I'd prefer one on each leg.

Pricy, but super good

These pants are great and it really proves that you get what you pay for. I traveled in them and have been on some hikes as well and they hold up well and look brand new out of the wash every time. Great casual wear as well. They fit tight in the legs which felt strange at first, but try them and you will get used to it and prefer it. I wish they had a tan/brown version, I would get those.

Great for Winter

Great soft shell pants for skiing. I use these for coaching and they help me stay warm when I'm standing still and on the move. They look great and can pass as casual wear.

No inseam option limits usability

I really want to like these pants. The materials, feel, features, and performance are awesome but the one size fits some inseam option is a major hindrance. I'm 5'10" 175lbs and normally wear a 33" waist and 32" inseam (I like my inseam a little long). I bought the M size which fits great at the waist, but is so long the knee hits my shin and the cuff covers half of the bottom of my foot! OR must have a lot of tall slim dudes working for them, because these pants are silly long and don't fit this average dude. If you are tall enough to make these work they are awesome. I just wish OR offered different inseam options.

they keep me covered

I wear the cirque pant for all of my ski touring and mountaineering in the cascades. For those purposes they work amazingly. The durability of these pants really stands out. I have ran up and down our volcanoes, skied several seasons, and just plain used them, and they are still holding up. I like the light gray color option, on hot sunny days they are much cooler than a black softshell pant. They also have really good water and snow repellency. even on wet ski tours the fabric does not "wet out". they are a bit hot for hiking/backpacking but anything up high or in cold weather they work great. I did want to give some feedback on a couple points that could improve them. first is venting options. I have found that the single mesh backed thigh pocket vents a good amount of heat when open. It would be great to add another thigh pocket to the other pant leg to get a "vent" there as well, and perhaps extend the zipper an inch or two to let out more heat. I would also like it if the hand pockets were larger. but overall great pants, I wear a Large, and a large fit great. I will buy a second pair as soon as my current pair gets worn out.

Cirque pants

Bullet proof pants! Haven't got to put them to "real" use yet, but I'm confident they will hold up to anything!

Best pants I've had in a long time.

Tried them on a hike in close to freezing temperatures. They were warm and comfortable.

These pants are almost perfect

These are stretchy, comfortable, waterproof, stylish, warm, and functional pants. Only con is they could be slightly more breathable. They're not bad, but could be better. This is my second pair and these are my default hiking, mountaineering pant.

Awesome Cool Weather Pants!!

I just got these a couple of months ago and I love them. My wife and just took a canoe/camp adventure to the Boundary Waters for a week and these were amazing. there. Tough and highly water resistant, but comfortable and breathable. I also live in Colorado and do a good bit of hiking/snow shoeing. We just got our first snow of the year over this past weekend I broke these bay boys and they may just be my new favorite cool weather hiking pants!!

I am 6'4" with a 32" waist and 34-36" inseam, will large be too baggy in the waist?

The size large would be a bit baggy in the waist, but you can use the velcro side tabs to synch it down as needed, the issue is your inseam as the cirques all listed as a 33" inseam which might be to short for your needs unless you are wearing ski or mountaineering boots.

Hi, what are specs for XXL size?

Hi Steven, A size XXL has a 42" waist, a 50" low hip measurement, and an inseam of 35". Thank for contacting OR,

I can't tell from your sizing whether I take a medium or small in this alpine pants. I want them for snow shoeing, light mountain climbling(18000 and below), tough, light weight, warm, but with good ventilation if exertion climbing, resistant to crampon cuts, flexible, and water and wind resistant. Any recommendations are welcome- please. These pants are for a male who is 5'7 and 150 lbs and has short legs with an inseam of 29 inches and waist of 32.

Hi Gary, A size Small has a waist measurement of 30" and increases 3" for each additional size up. The inseam measurement for a size Small is 31 and increases 1" for each additional size up. Based on your waist measurement we would recommend a size Medium. The pants have adjustable tabs at the waist or you may use a belt if the pants if there is too much room in the waist. If you needed an insulated version of this pant, consider the Alpenice Pants. Thanks for contacting OR,

What is the waist size of size small?

Hi Victor, The waist size is 30" for a Small, and increases 3" for each additional size up. Thanks for contacting OR,

How should these pants be washed/cleaned? Do they have a DWR coating that needs to be refreshed every now and then?

Hi Caleb, Sorry for the late response. The Cirque pants do have a DWR coating that needs to be refreshed occasionally. We recommend either using a small amount of non-detergent soap (or technical wash), and following up with an extra rinse cycle and a low heat tumble dry cycle. We recommend using Nikwax Tech Wash and Softshell Proof, they sell it as a pack (Softshell DuoPack). Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

On the website, sizes are listed as S, M, L, XL. However, the Size and Fit Guide at the bottom of the page lists measurements in inches or centimeters. If I have a 36" waist and a 32" inseam, which size would you recommend I order?

Bob Labrie

Hi Bob, I would go with the Large. A size Large has a 36" waist and a 33" inseam measurement. If you needed more room to accommodate layering, a size XL has a 39" waist and 34" inseam. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

I'm a 33" waist, 30" inseam. Should I buy a large?

You're on the lower end of size Large, but you can use the velcro tabs on the sides to adjust the waist to fit.

MEN'S CIRQUE PANTS what are the waist and inseam measurements for medium and large
