Love this thing x2. I'm 6', 175 lbs (43" chest) and have an XL that is more of a hoody/sweater/insulation layer and a L that is more of a base layer or snug single layer. I can wear the XL casually, the L is a more 'technical' fit.

To OR: I like seeing your products on models, but please add a tag line on the bottom of the photo of the garment size and the model's measurements! I would take out a bunch of guess work!

Good all round mid layer as everyone says. I still prefer the Acetylene jacket and here is why:
Back and sleeve material catches, tears easier.
Too breathable. I need an additional layer to stay warm in the wind.
Either have a zippered hand pocket or no hand pocket.
Hood creates "Hood stack" with the additional layer (cathode) and shell.
I like the piece for what it is, its great for warmer days. But not as useful for winter activities for me.

I use this product for layering for skiing dnhill as well as touring. It is also a great early morning piece for hiking. some of the jackets have been tight around the chest and under the arms but the Deviator Hoody seems to fit very well in these areas.

OR has been kicking butt with their active insulation layers the past couple years and this shirt/jacket is one of the greats. It's super versatile, and does a great job of regulating body temp through a variety of conditions. I don't leave home without mine.

      Comments about Men's Deviator Hoody:

My most used piece of workout wear I have. Must have if your workouts take you into the great outdoors in questionable weather. Great stand alone if it is chilly but if it gets colder or rainy a simple shell and you are good to go.

      Comments about Men's Deviator Hoody:

I can't believe how versatile this jacket is. I find that on many ski tours I can put this over a light baselayer and leave it on all day. I skin up in it and then throw on a shell for the down. I have never been this comfortable this easily.

      Perfect midlayer

      Comments about Men's Deviator Hoody:

On crazy cold (-20 plus wind) days I couple this piece with a Transcendent vest as a double mid layer. However, every spring winter and fall activity, from alpine to Nordic, from snowshoe to crampon, this piece comes with me, worn over a wool baselayer, and allows for maximum thermodegulation.

      My new go-to layer!

      Comments about Men's Deviator Hoody:

I started wearing the Deviator during the fall season pedaling, hiking and scrambling in a variety of mixed weather. Now that winter is here, Iï¾'ve been wearing it over a lightweight base layer on the uptrack. It's great in a wide range of temps. At the top of a climb, I add my shell or puffy and drop in. It's one of those rare pieces that became a staple in my outdoor adventure kit from first use.

      SuperUber baselayer

      Comments about Men's Deviator Hoody:

This piece IS the baselayer I've been dreaming of for years. I wear it for Rando Racing and training. It's warm when I need it, but also not too hot. There is something weird about it though- and in reality it's me, not it- that when my body wants to/ is used to being a bit over heated and it's not, I find myself slightly cool. It's like when I first started using eVent, I was so used to be extra warm (classic GoreTex feeling) that when I wasn't, I felt cool. Of course in winter sweating (getting moisture caught) n your clothes gets you into big trouble quickly if you pause.

I'm currently 178lbs and 5.11" and the medium is quite snug. At first I wasn't sure about the hood and the very top of the zipper. However, on a day of Ice climbing I discovered the hood, while it fits fine on my bare head also stretches enough to cover my climbing helmet.

I'm online ordering another one- to have a "daily wear" piece as I love it so much AND this medium is SNUG on my no longer athletic body. Way to go OR! Thank you!
