Great all around jacket.

This will be on or in the bag for every adventure from spring to fall. It is also my go to daily jacket as well.

My new go-to jacket for 3 seasons.

Great all around jacket for the 3 warmer seasons. Lightweight, very breathable, nice and stretchy.

Best piece of gear I always carry with me these days

Amazing beatheability. Perfect for layering. I don't leave for any adventure without this piece.

Very Comfortable

I bought this for my college aged son and he normally wears an extra large but he has no extra room in this jacket. I was hoping it would fit a little looser and maybe that's the way it's supposed to fit. He loves the jacket and says it fits fine so maybe it's just me.

Great jacket for active wear !

If you are working hard this jacket will keep you warm and it breaths really good, no sweaty buildup on inside.

I highly recommend picking one up.

Great piece of gear. I am going to buy another next year and go up a size. I bought an XL and it would be snug if I layer anything under it. I am 6' 226lbs and most XL coats fit me. This is a more athletic fitting. With that said I love the jacket. I wore it on a trip this weekend into DC. I had a long sleeve shirt on underneath it and the temp was high 50s low 60 s when we left. The temp climbed throughout the day into the high 70s maybe 80s and I had to take it off. I was plenty comfortable with just the long sleeve on with the Ferrosi as an outer layer. Great Jacket highly recommend. It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

Great spring jacket!

love this to death! this is my go to anything above 20!

Best softshell ever

Great to wear on its own with a merino underneath in warmer alpine temps or under a fully waterproof hardshell when the precipitation comes in. I have worn it almost everyday from snowmobiling to fishing in the columbia the past few weeks. This is the best softshell i own. Breathes way better than the Gamma LT

Nice jacket, works well just as described

I work at night doing wildlife surveys in the woods driving ATVs. I'm 6' 186lbs and the jacket fits well over a mid layer fleece and cuts the wind nicely to about 18 mph. So not as robust as a true hardshell but the breathiblity is excelllent. I often have to clear logs and brush out of the roads and the jacket keeps me warm without breaking a sweat and freezing plus the stretch fabric allows full range of motion. The tougher fabric on the shoulders and arms is a nice feature, wards off pulls and runs in the fabric from abuse on rocks or snagging on brush. The DWR treatment beads up fog and drizzle nicely.

A Necessity for Sweaty Pursuits

This jacket is perfect for the uphill on backcountry ski tours. I wear a base layer with this jacket and it is perfect - it breathes and dumps excess heat while also providing protection from the wind and light snow or rain. This jacket is amazing!

I am 6'3'' tall, chest 40'' sleeve 35''. Should I get a M or a L?

Hi Hotzi, We'd recommend a Medium if you prefer your clothes to be fitted, it may be a little short in the sleeve, but it won't be as baggy compared to the Large. Thanks for contacting OR,

Hi. I'm 5' 9" tall, 145 pounds, with a 37/38 " chest. Would you recommend a small or medium? Thanks!

Hi Matt, We would recommend a size Small if you prefer your clothes to be fitted, a size Medium if you wanted it looser. Thanks for contacting OR,

What is the length of the sleeve for the size XXL and XL and how it is measured?

Hi markodecaja, The sleeve length for the XL is 36.5" and for the XXL is 37.5". It is measured from the Center Back to center of cuff (straight measurement). Thanks for contacting OR,

I am looking for a jacket with maximum ventilation and breathable with water resistance for hiking and scrambling in the rain. Would the Ferrosi or Valley rain jacket be better for this? Or is there a different product you would recommend?

Hi Robert, The Valley Jacket will not provide the maximum ventilation and breathability due to the materials. However, the jacket is waterproof and it does feature dual separating, TorsoFlo zippers, which if you do get warm or start to sweat you can open up to ventilate. This jacket would be ideal if you plan on using the jacket in extended periods of rain. The Ferrosi Jacket is water-resistant and provides excellent ventilation and breathability, the material is also very soft and lightweight. However, it is not ideal for an extended time (scrambling) in the rain. If you need a water-resistant jacket with more warmth, the Ascendant Jacket is another option. The Polartec Alpha Direct material is a little bit more durable and burlier than the Alpha material so you may have direct-to-skin contact without a layer in between the fabric and skin. This allows and helps move more moisture to the surface of the fabric to wick away moisture. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

How should this jacket be washed/cleaned? Does it have a DWR coating that needs to be reapplied every once in a while? How should softshells be cared for in general?

Hi Caleb, Sorry for the late response. The Men's Ferrosi Hooded Jacket do have a DWR coating that needs to be refreshed occasionally. We recommend either using a small amount of non-detergent soap (or technical wash), and following up with an extra rinse cycle and a low heat tumble dry cycle. We recommend using Nikwax Tech Wash and Softshell Proof, they sell it as a pack (Softshell DuoPack). Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

Is the inside of the jacket lined? What is the texture?

The Ferrosi Hooded Jacket is not lined; the fabric feels the same on the outside as it does on the inside. It's a lightweight softshell fabric with a lot of stretch and breathability.
