Please offer Hi-Vis color options for the Ferrosi Hoody!!

I love the design, fit and feel of this Ferrosi Hoody! It's great for mobility and keeping the wind and rain at bay! It's great in cold conditions when used with an equally stretchable, additional layer, either as an under- or over/shell layer. I have it in Black, Dusk, and I really like the Shade color option too. I do commuter-cycling, and use Hi-Vis clothing, so I really wish OR would offer the Ferrosi Hoody in Hi-Vis color options, maybe a Bright Lime-Green for starters, and other Hi-Vis colors like maybe Bright Fuschia, etc !!!

Great Jacket

5

This is a great jacket for days when you are not sure if it's going to rain or not. Not too warm when wearing over a t-shirt but keeps the chill off when wearing over a sweatshirt or sweater. Also folds up nicely to pack away in your day bag. Would recommend!!

Great base layer for hiking

5

I purchased a Ferrosi Hoody at the recommendation of a co-worker. I used it on two weekend hikes in winter months (elevations between 7K and 8K feet) and then bought one for my dad. I've used it on every hike since then. The jacket is very comfortable and it will be a standard load out item if I'm not already wearing it out the door.

Really Great kit

I recently purchased this jacket and was very impressed by the quality and fit. I have used it for daily outdoor use and also as winter jacket with an existing fleece I had. The jacket has proven to be light weight and easy to adopt to. I expected a thicker material though, at first I was shocked how light it was, then I got used to it and started to appreciate this jacket as a true shell. I would have like it to be more water resistant, however it dries really quick.

Awesome Light weight multi-purpose jacket

5

Love this jacket. I bought it for trail walks and runs. However, one day I wore it to work, I work on a flight line at an airport. No trees buildings to shield gusts of wind and some days that wind is cold. I wore this jacket over a long sleeve shirt on a 40 degree day, the wind was defeated. This jacket stopped the cold gusting wind from hitting me while I worked. I was very impressed. Its light enough you hardly feel it, yet it does more then you'd think. Very well designed and it stretches so you can climb mountains or ladders and not worry of it tearing. Awesome product!!!!

Excellent all season softshell

5

I originally bought this to replace a light windshell for summer evenings and cool breezes and for that, it worked very well. It's breathable when it's warm and blocks a decent amount of wind when worn over a light t-shirt. The surprise was how well it works in winter, it was the perfect thing for snowshoeing and active snow sports. The hoody works very well on snowshoe hikes worn over a fleece, it was breathable and kept me from getting too sweaty on uphill sections and kept gusty winds out on ridges so I stayed warm. When the weather was constant light snow the dwr actually kept the snow melt from soaking in and I stayed totally dry. After the hike I added a light down sweater on under and stayed quite toasty. The fit is fairly standard compared to other OR jackets, sizing up is a good idea if you want to be able to layer under with something puffy. I liked mine so much that I got one for my wife as well. Will definitely consider buying another and recommending to friends.

Echoing Praise...

5

This is not a unique review in terms of praise for the jacket - it really is one of the best there is for a lightweight, weather resistant, tough-as-leather softshell. I have used it for everything from bike commuting to crag climbing to cold-weather trail running and XC skiing. I live in Alaska so we get all kinds of crazy weather. The jacket also suffered a bike crash after a couple months and my arm still has the scar but the jacket is barely scuffed. High praise for the fabric combo! The close-fitting but stretchy hood also makes me happy in windy/cruddy weather. This piece gets worn more than any other jacket I own. I can layer it over a thin puffy (think OR Uberlayer or Patagonia Nano-Air Hoody) and I have been comfortable while active down to 10 degrees. It is amazing. Mine is 2 years old and going strong. Sizing: I am 6' tall, 170lbs, 74" wingspan and this fits like a glove. For comparison, I own the OR Foray Jacket which fits roomier, but similar in dimensions, the Helium, which fits nearly identically. And I wear a medium in the Patagonia Nano-Air. That should give prospective buyers some context. OR - please never stop making this!! --And thank you for making the Summit Version!

A great all-round jacket

5

Incredible. The Ferrosi jacket seems to do a good job at just about everything except steady rain: I take it snowshoeing, backpacking, x-country skiing, hiking up volcanoes in Hawai'i -- everywhere. Light, comfy, breathable, relatively windproof, sheds snow and light precip. It's always with me.

Amazing jacket, recommended!!!

5

Definitely an amazing jacket !! Light, great fitting, durable and protects from wind snow and light rain very well. It doesn't do much to keep you warm per say as it's thin but it's not meant for that. It's my to go jacket weather I'm hiking, climbing ice or rock or mountaineering. I just wear a baselyer or fleece underneath according weather conditions. .
