RATING AND REVIEWS

awesome even for women!

4

im a 5'11, 22 year old women and i found that these pants fit me better than the women's selection. there awesome for day hikes in any weather and very comfortable. the only thing is that i found the stitching to be a pour quality in spots. the butt pockets came with loose thread and unraveled in the first couple of wears. the front button is also a pour quality metal so it made a rash on my stomach after long hikes. but other than that i ordered 3 more pairs.

Great Pants! but...

These pants are great! They have a good amount of stretch which makes them an ideal pant for hiking or climbing. They are also super comfortable for hanging out by the campfire after a long day in the mountains. The draw string on the bottom cuff allows you to turn them into capris if it gets hot. Unfortunately, I am a tall guy. Since these pants only come in a 32" inseam, they sit awkwardly high on my ankles. This is somewhat ok when climbing but still looks a little funny. For hiking or wearing around, they are way too high. I wish OR would make these pants in a tall! Also, the waist fits slightly large for a 32. this could be due to the stretch, and is easily mitigated by a belt or shoestring.

Great soft-shell pants

Used these pants with the croc gaiters and they have lasted three months of hiking through Yukon/Alaskan bush. I work for a exploration company and spend 8 hours a day hiking in alpine, tundra/muskeg, mature forest. It is four seasons all year round in the north, and these pants excelled. They dry quickly, have not ripped despite serious abuse, and are lightweight/breathable in warm temps. I will buy these again. I'm 5'10", 155lbs and the 28" waist fits best, however I bought the 30s because I felt the length and fit in the thighs was better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llWw00pKJ38 Ferrosi pants, crocodile gaiters and Ferrosi utility shirt seen at 6:00. All great products that I would buy again.

Breezy backcountry britches

These pants are very comfortable and breathe well. They're great for warm weather hiking. They don't shed moisture very well, though; even in light rain the classic Ferrosi line will quickly soak through despite conscientious waterproofing as needed using purpose-formulated detergents and water resistance coatings. They fit a little bit big in the sense that the material is stretchy. You can probably spring for a perfect fit or a size down from what you'd normally purchase your jeans in and you'll find that these pants fit nicely. I would make two changes: the side pockets at the hips could be zippered. Although the pockets are reasonably deep, I don't want to worry about losing the contents on a hike, scramble, or climb. The leg pocket zipper could also be lengthened 1-2 centimetres. I have a hard time fitting my wallet through the opening. Finally, the zipper tabs are frustratingly small. I strongly recommend manufacturing these pants with a pull cord affixed to the tab, or tying one on yourself at home.
