I beat and use the heck out of my gear - from big walls to guiding on alpine rock (lots of butt scooting and seated belays), and can attest to the quality of construction, materials, and subtle design features that make the difference to people who spend time climbing technical rock in the mountains and the crag. I like that the boot cuffs fit snug around the top of my Trangos so they keep scree and snow out without needing stirrup strap attachment points. The fabric stretches with your body and the fit is technical without being at all constrictive. As stated before, the fabric holds up extremely well on rough granite, drys fast, and seems to keep me comfortable in a very wide temperature range - from hot summer days to cold pre-dawn starts for fall alpine ice. A note to the manufacturer: Do not change anything about these pants! I'm on my 3rd pair but have not honored their incredible warranty because they've far surpassed any pant I have tried so far with durability.

I bought a pair of these pants in march of 2016 (I'm 5'7 and 195 lbs and got a size large that fit awesome) and was told by my friends that they were the best pants around for backpacking, climbing, etc. I work in a profession where I consistently am doing that type of stuff and am teaching troubled teens how to do it. I have got to say that they held up really well for the first 6 months and I had nothing but compliments to give these pants, however after not having them for even a year they're already causing me some trouble.

I have worn the pants probably 45+ days and now the stiching is coming undone literally everywhere. The back pocket stitching is falling apart, the stiching in the crotch area is coming undone and I am pretty confident that within the next 5 or so times of wearing these pants they will no longer be functional. I love all my OR gear and expected these pants to do well, however in my eyes they fell short of my expectations in a big way.

Great material, fit could be better

These pants are excellent for any warm-weather activity; the material is durable, stretchy, and soft. The fit is a bit off, I found - the waist is on the big side, and the lower legs could be tighter to prevent dragging or snagging (though there is a drawstring at the leg opening).

Great hiking pants

These get stashed in the backpack for the chilly early morning hikes. They are breathable yet keep the cold out. Very stretchy, yet durable.

Fantastic for any purpose

Slowly, Outdoor Research has overtaken my closet, and not just my gear closet. Their pants, especially the Ferrosi, are the most comfortable I have found of any brand, "outdoor gear" or not. I usually wear them more for around town, but it's perfect to throw down some pitches after work or be ready for any mountain adventure! Their much lighter than I expected and very packable, so their often my leg layer to wrap up in a tight bundle when I go on a backcountry trail run. Their fairly water resistant, so that helps. I'll be picking up another pair soon!

I have a bubble butt

I have a bubble butt, and these fit perfect. Pants from Arcteryx and Mtn Hardwear and Patagonia are way to tight around my butt and look like yoga pants even though the waist fits. These are perfect fit in the waist and butt. Baggy enough to still have a relaxed fit, but tight enough that you can use them in alpine and off trail and not worry about snags.

Fantastic

These are amazing! I have rather large thighs due to a wrestling background and there is elasticity in that region which helps make bending/crouching a breeze.
In addition, these pants are relatively water-proof. I have gone out of my way to purposely step in puddles and haven't had water seep through.

Love this product.

Finish is great, fit is terrible

The fit of these pants is strange. I ordered a 34, which I wear in everything else. The waist of the pants I got measures 38" and OR says that's the correct measurement! I'd go with a smaller size, but the legs of the pant are already tight on these. If OR fixed the sizing, I would buy several more pair, but as-is the fit is way off.

Excellent for everything

These pants are excellent for almost every outdoor activity. I mostly wear mine climbing and they can perform in a variety of temps and conditions. These pants have proven to be very durable, I've had them for a year of hard use guiding rock and personal climbing. They are also super comfortable. I used to really like the Patagonia Rock Craft pant but the Ferrosi have a better fit and Patagonia doesn't make those anymore. I'm 6.2 and 185 lbs, the 32 fits me very well.

Great outdoor utility pants!

I have had these for a few months now and I have to say that I am really impressed. They are incredibly comfortable and great for hiking/backpacking/climbing. Very stretchy and lightweight as well as some water resistance. They have draw strings around the ankle which can be really nice in wetter conditions. Overall, I would recommned these.

Lightweight, durable, super quick dry and wind breaking. These pants do it all. I have three pairs of ferrossu pants for three years and they''re holding out strong.
