Super soft and comfortable

I am 5'10 and 183lbs. I ordered a size 34 and they are a little big but very comfortable and super lightweight. Good stretch and no bite in the crotch area. Washes well with no shrinking. Only negative point is the single thigh zipper pocket. Makes the shorts unbalanced - recommend added a second thigh zipper pocket to the other side.

Not a bad pair of shorts

These are some nice pair of shorts but they are a bit bigger/baggier than I anticipated. I normally like a good, fitted pair of hiking shorts but these feel more like a pair of basketball ball shorts.

Love the fit and style of the shorts.

Love the shorts and will buy again!

For the Pre-updated 10" shorts

I really want to give these shorts five stars, BUT the lack of attention to detail negatively affected this review. The thigh pocket is too small for a standard size smart phone and the vertical zipper on the side of the thigh pocket prevents placing the phone in it without it falling out, or it could be the location of the zipper that makes the pocket feel small and causes the other issues. The back pockets lack a zipper on either which would keep ID's and such secured when in town. Otherwise the fit and feel of these shorts is great, they fit the legs of people who walk uphill , at least, half the time we're hiking/backpacking. Fix the previously mentioned issues and I would dare say OR you would have a perfect pair of shorts.

Excellent shorts

Love the shorts. They are comfortable and breathable. I have two pair wear them everyday during the summer. Great for around town or for outdoor warm weather adventures.

I love the shorts so much, I just ordered Ferrosi Pants!

Amazing shorts. I've had them a little over a week but have taken them on close to 200 miles cycling, 50 miles running, a short hike, several workouts, work and out to dinner. Their light weight stretch fabric and DWR treatment makes them perfect for every activity and movement I've put them through and their clean style/look makes me never want to take them off. From work to trail to dinner then couch, these are my new go to shorts! As always, great work OR!

I would buy these shorts again.

I wear short pants most of the time.

Buy them!!

Having worn (older) Ferrosi pants I finally decided to buy the shorts. Observations; updated 'hand' pocket openings are smaller but aid to eliminate that feeling items are going to fall out. Thigh pocket is smaller and barely holds my 5 7/8" x 3 1/16" phone. Sadly the rear pockets lost their zippers so on short hikes the wallet will have to go in the backpack. The best update is the smaller belt loops; now 2" so fabric doesn't want to "roll over" a 1.75" belt. OR offer them in coyote, and put the zippers back on the rear pockets and these shorts will be near perfect!

Great shorts!

The Ferrosi shorts are just as amazing as the pants. Being up in Alaska I use the pants throughout summer as they're lightweight and breathable, but when traveling I ALWAYS have my Ferrosi shorts. The only thing I'd change is add zippers to back pockets so my wallet doesn't pop out while bike riding, running, and rolling around with my son.

Good shorts, mediocre pockets.

These shorts are very comfortable and love the material. With that said, the side pocket isn't of any use that I've found, and like others mention, the back pocket needs a zipper at least on one side. Overall they are a good item that easily be great with some minor tweaks.

My waist measures pretty much exactly 32". Should I order the size 31 or 32? I want these to fit well without a belt, and I find that most size 32 pants and shorts are more like 33" or greater. In Prana for example, size 31 fits my waist perfectly, and 32 is way too loose. So I'm leaning towards ordering the 31, but would appreciate some confirmation!

our ferrosi shorts are true to list size and don't run large as most companies do, you should be good to go with the 32!
