I had my Helium II for my whole Appalachian Trail 2018 Thru hike. The one item I didn't switch out through my whole 2,200 mile trek. This is a quality jacket that kept me warm in my layering set up in the snow. It kept me dry in the freezing rain. This jacket saved me when there was cutting winds on the peaks. I loved it so much I bought a second because it's always nice to have a backup in your closet - just incase. I like black because when the sun is out, I think it dries quicker. I also really only wear it when it's cold or windy. This is because hiking in warm summer rain I don't find any jacket suitable in keeping you dry cause you'll always sweat. In cold conditions I think black with the sun will assist in keeping you warm- resulting in less calories burned to warm you.
