I bought this for a four day backpacking trip, since I did not have any warm jacket. Luckily I did, since the weather dropped to 44 degrees in camp! I was wearing a 150 merino base layer and this jacket and was very comfortable walking around camp. The second day, the temperature dropped to 37 degrees and I was a bit cold, and had to put on my rain shell. The next morning, was in the high 30s and I set off on our hike in this jacket with my base layer on, but got hike as the temperature climbed to about 45, and was hiking. I wore it around camp each night. It doesn't block the wind very well, but was decent in a light mist and did not stay wet! I'd definitely recommend this to anyone needing to add a warm layer to their backpacking kit. I'll probably wear this around town as a layer as well, since it is lightweight and pretty decently warm. For stats, I'm 5'8" and 165lbs. I bought a medium. I have short arms, and these were a good length for me, I think the sleeves and jacket length would be short on someone who was taller than 6ft and trying to fit in a medium.
