I love this pant. It is a great fall/spring weight, and even for milder winter weather with a base layer. Very warm and wind resistant for the weight, with enough air permeability to breathe, and good wicking owing to textured backer. Looks fine to wear around town, or for exercise, yet a great technical pant as well. Very versatile. My only real gripe is that the waistband stretches significantly as you wear them. If you dry them, they shrink back to their original waist, but as you wear them throughout the day, or over several days, the waistband gives at least an inch, and the rest of the pant stretches a little as well. If there is a way to avoid this without using a different fabric (I love this fabric) then it would be a good thing for OR to fix. Until then, keep it in mind when sizing. If they are just tight enough to stay on when you first get in them, you will need belt after wearing them for a day or two. Similarly, if they are tight, you may gain that extra inch you need.

Another issue is that the DWR isn't stellar. It isn't amazing to begin with, and wears off fairly quickly compared to some others by more premium brands like Arc'teryx. Maybe OR could use a different treatment, or tweak the fabric slightly, but a better DWR means using a different fabric I would say it isn't worth it, because the feel/weight/warmth/breathability of this fabric is what makes the pant. Just don't count on it for more than a short time in wet conditions without having a shell-pant handy.

A cuff cinch would also be nice, as I like that in almost any pant, though it is far from completely necessary. Lastly, I would love OR to begin making this pant in a 35, as I find myself squarely between sizes, with the 34 being a little tight, and 36, after stretching, hanging a bit without a belt. I find the pants to run more or less true to size, perhaps just a little big.

Overall I highly recommend. Perhaps my favorite outdoor pant. So comfortable, so functional, and so versatile - could be yoga pants as much as (lighter duty) alpine pants. Just be willing to reapply DWR if you use frequently in the outdoors, and to wear with a belt if they stretch a bit.

These pants would get a much higher rating if it weren't for the sizing. I must say that that are up to the typical OR standard of solidly constructed goods and it it nice to see an outdoor apparel company offering hiking pants in slim sizing that don't look like out-of-style hiking pants. However, the waist and inseam of these pants is not true-to-size at all. The 30 waist of my pants are way too big (more like a 32-33) and they missed the mark on the inseam too: this time too short. It's too bad as otherwise, I would buy another pair in a heartbeat.

These are awesome pants. They are not baggy but also not skin tight, just what I was looking for. My only complaint is I bought a size 32 waist and the inseam is more of a 30 instead of the advertised 32, so they are short on me.

Bigger pockets needed

I really like these pants and want to love them. I can't because the hand pockets are incredibly shallow. I wouldn't trust even putting chapstick in them without them popping out. Other than that not bad pants.

Have put these pants through the ringer wether it is climbing, fly fishing wading, canoe tripping, or long bushwhacking hikes these pants hold up! There is no limitation on movement, they are extremely breathable, and water resistant. They are not water proof but when i fully submersed them when wading in a stream it took a couple of seconds before they started absorbing the water. They are also quick dry so when they do get wet they dry dry extremely quickly, all in all very impressed with this product.

Simply the best pants

I love these. They are versatile enough to be used for almost anything. I've used them hiking, climbing, skiing, shoveling snow, canoeing in chilly and warm temperatures, the list goes on and on. I actually thought about putting them on to mow the grass today. If I could afford it I'd have a pair for everyday of the week. Great pockets, good belt loops, amazing stretch and fantastic wind and water resistance.
I just wore them last week on a fishing trip, it was around 40ᄚF and the wind was blowing at a constant 25-30 mph. I was completely comfortable in just the Voodoo pants, nothing underneath.

Excellent fit and function

I can't say enough about these pants. The fit is perfect. I find most of OR pants to be to baggy, but these are perfect... not skinny, but not baggy around the legs and ankles. Great Job. Want a great idea? these in a zip off pant... wow!
