RATING AND REVIEWS

Lightweight stretchy pants!

I really like the balance of windproofness and breathability in these pants. The stretch is awesome, but has its limits. The seams are double stitched, but I broke some of the stitching in the groin when I took a high step for a climbing move. The Voodoo run quite big, so I fit well in a Small while I wear a Medium in everything else. The only thing that really annoys me are the useless front pockets. They are so small, my phone will easily fall out. I end up just using them for bar wrappers or keys if I'm feeling bold. I use these pants for hiking and warm weather mountaineering/ski touring. The cuffs will fit over ski boots with small cuff diameters (mostly ski-mountaineering boots). They fit over my Dynafit TLT7's

Decent stretch softshell

I have two pair of the Voodoo pants. One in black and one in Charcoal. The black color feels thicker than the Charcoal, I also saw the Fatigue in a local store and it seems to be a thicker fabric as well. It sheds light or short rain showers & snow well, dries quickly. Adding a base layer under these can be comfortable down into 20°F depending on base layer thickness, activity level & wind. They aren't too bad in warmer temps, but if it gets over 75° or 80° Or humid they can feel a bit sticky. The fit of the waist is on point with other OR Hiking & climbing pants like the Ferrosi & Equinox (about 3" larger than actual waist measurement - a size 34 fits a 37" waist). The hip & seat area is more profiled than the Ferrosi which is rather straight from the waist through the upper thigh, tapers from seat to knee & is fairly straight to the cuff. As others have mentioned, the inseam length is slightly short compared to the Ferrosi, especially on the smaller sizes. The inseam on a 34 is about 31". The major issues: Pockets The front hand pockets are too shallow by a couple inches & the opening too wide. They can fit a small phone or keys, but that's about it. Then there's the side cargo pocket, it's HUGE, which is nice, but it sits so low anything of weight bangs your knee or IT band when moving. If the entry was an inch or so higher & an inch or so shallower it would be perfect. The stitching Strange needless stitching that runs over necessary length, and appears to only be a fashion design, on the rear pocket & above the side pocket. Along with this is the odd fabric cuts that come together to form the side of the Pant/pocket area. So far that doesn't seem to be an issue with durability, but is kind of odd. Both pair I have the stitching over the side cargo pocket came loose after the first wearing. So far it doesn't seem to be affecting the integrity, but looks horrible & it's either leave a long loose thread or continue to cut the end shorter.

Overall a good pant

Very lightweight pant. They have an athletic fit that may not be for everyone. Only complaint is the shallow front pockets. I wear these frequently for golfing and the front pockets are effectively useless. Without the pocket issue, they would have been my favorite pair of pants

Favorite pants of all time

These Voodoo pants are the best. Strechy, breathable and durable. I wear these pants all the time. They can be worn in summer when pants are needed and you wont heat up too much. They are not super thick, though great in the winter with some tights underneath. Recently wore with a jacket to a wedding. Much more comfortable than traditional "dress pants". Highly recommend.

Great pant.

Awesome pants. I picked these up for field work and backpacking. They've handled super well and I prefer them to my Prana pants (I wear 34x32 in both OR and Prana). At 6'0" and 200lbs these fit perfectly. A bit snug on the rear but with some wear they ended up fitting perfectly and holding up in the spring, summer, fall elements of MI.

Voodoo is right

There is indeed some kind of black magic playing about these trousers. I am perpetually between sizes both in waist and length, in all makes and models of outdoor wear and yet these FIT ME PERFECTLY. Sorry about that, all you whole-size wonders out there but sometimes something has to break in favor of the underdog. So far I have worn them in cold/rainy, hot/muggy and arid environments and they performed well; They wear effortlessly and look great. They are unobtrusive in an office environment as well. I'm waiting on my third pair. Too early to judge durability, fingers crossed.

Comfy

After owning and loving the Cirque pants, I thought I would try these, which are lighter weight. Super comfy, great stretch, nice colors. Very breathable as well. Only minor gripe are the pockets. They are deeper than the super shallow Cirque pockets, but not by much. The tops of the pockets are loose, so my minimalist wallet, keys, chaptstick fall out all the time. The one thigh pocket, by contrast, is deep. So deep that whatever you put in it slides behind the back of your knee, so when you crouch down, it gets pinched. Overall love the pant, the flexibility, the finish and feel. Improve the pocket size, and they'll be perfect.

Great pants, word of warning for the men

This pants are beautiful and as advertised have a flexibility that can't be understated. These just came in about an hour ago and so i haven't taken them hiking just yet. Just 2 things: they're a bit rustle/y, not as bad as a synthetic rainshell or anything, but present. So if your looking for something to enjoy the silence of nature in this might not be the best. Other thing, men, Ima be as discrete as possible here: your crotch might show through these. If you have this issue with normal sweatpannts like i do, your gonna have it with these too. It's not too bad as long as your boy is pointing straight down, but if you gonna be out in a group with these on, maintain your downstairs situational awareness. Wearing spandex underwear might help as well. I'll update this once i try these pants out in the mountains.
