Purpose-built for climbing and detailed for trail-to-town versatility, the Wadi Rum Pants and Shorts use a durable Cordura nylon, spandex, and cotton blend to match the real-world ruggedness of the Middle Eastern routes from which it was named. Great pants, light, but random sizing.

I love these pants, however, I have 3-4 pairs and none of them fit the same. I've had to return about the same number of pairs because they totally didn't fit. All the same size. Some were tight in the legs, some were huge in the waist. Every pair is different. Order 3, keep 1 is kind of how it seems to work.

Great fabric, weird fit

These pants could easily get 5 stars if it wasn't for the weird fit. The fabric is amazing. It's enough heavy duty to withstand serious abuse and at the same time it's quite stretchy. Only issue is the design. Firstly, they fit too large. I normally wear OR pants size 32 but the waist feels like a 34. Had to take my first pair I got to a tailor to fix the waist. On my next pair I ordered size 30. Now they fit good at the waist but are quite tight on the legs and the area directly below the waist is still oddly way bulky (above the pockets). Sad part is I love wearing them so much I'll probably order more and keep hemming them but I sure wish OR would figure the design on those as they could be amazing pants!

Great pants!

There are some mixed reviews about the fit of these pants. Which is the difficulty about shopping online.. however, outdoor research has your back. They will help you out if you need to return them. They feel a touch loose in the waist and the pockets sorta flare. But you dont really notice them. It's difficult to explain but I like them. That being said; I'm so happy to have these pants. I love them, I read someone saying these are casual but technical pants. Something you can wear without them screaming "im on a adventure". They feel like a tough cotton but has strech. I wear them all the time.

My favorite pair of pants

I love these pants. I normally wear a 32 waist, but had to get the size 30 pants because they run a little big. The one con is that they don't breathe super great, but I don't think they need to. I soaked them with sweat on a fast paced approach scrambling talus and bushwhacking; they managed to dry out pretty fast, much better than jeans would have. I really like that the drawstring in the waist allows me to forego a belt when wearing a harness. Last note, the front pockets stand quite open—not sure if this was intentional, but there's nothing wrong with it besides looking different.

Terrible sizing- legs skin tight, waist too big

I really wanted to like these pants, and they have a lot of things going for them- nice material, looks good, decent number of pockets. And I love pants that have both belt loops and a drawstring. But the sizing is ridiculous. I ordered the 32", short inseam. First of all the waist is way too big, more like 34". I measured my waist to be sure, and my waist is pretty much exactly 32", and there is indeed 2" of extra fabric at the waist. The waist is also 1-2" bigger than most other 32" pants I have, so the sizing is off even by industry standard. More critically, the legs are way too tight. At the calves, knees, and lower thighs, these are practically skin-tight. When you stand up with your legs straight, the fit it merely snug, but as soon as you bend your knees or sit down, it becomes skin-tight in these areas. So tight that when I bend my knees or high-step, the pants ride up several inches and can't slide back down afterwards, and look and feel ridiculous. Any articulation doesn't help at all. The only place the legs are reasonable is at the upper thighs. How such tight pants could be presumably designed for athletic people and especially for climbing is hard to imagine- these fit like skinny jeans. It's as if these were designed for hipsters with no leg muscles who yet are self-conscious about their waist size.. If it was just the waist size, I would get a smaller size or have them tailored, but the skin-tight legs render these are highly uncomfortable and unwearable, and I will be returning them. I hope OR will redesign these pants with a more reasonable fit and an accurate waist size, and then I'd love to give them another try. Until then, unless you have unusually skinny legs and can order down a size for the waist, I highly recommend avoiding these.

Great potential, Terrible sizing

Loved the material. However, the sizing is a bit ridiculous. Waist is way too big, like maybe 2" larger than other pants I own in the same size. Legs are very tight, almost like skinny jean style. Pockets are a bit strange as well, very large openings but not very deep. The thigh/side pocket is also in an unusual spot, directly on top of the thigh instead of on the side which doesn't really accomodate anything large while moving around a lot (i.e. smart phone).

Good pants. Sizing varies.

Great pants. Leg Zipper pocket should be more on the outside of the leg rather than on top of it as it makes it difficult to move or uncomfortable if you are carrying anything in it. Also, the hand pockets stick out a bit. Kind of nice if you like a baggy feel. Unfortunatly, the waist was way bigger than it should be... and out of 4 pairs each one was different.

Probably my favorite pants ever

Great both for outdoor activities and wearing to work

Burly without the weight

These pant fit pretty large so downsize. The pants have a nice slimmer fit that still move very well. I have been able to hight step with no restriction besides my lack of flexibility;) The pants are very burly and stand up to any OW you can throw yourself at.

Excellent pants. Front pockets jut out a bit

So far so good. Pants fit just right, not too baggy, not skinny. Good for daily wear, work, and moderate activity. As I understand it they were designed as climbing pants. I'm no climber but I bet they're well suited for it. They do not broadcast "I'M ON AN ADVENTURE" which I appreciate. The drawstring in the waistband is sweet. I suffer the genetic condition of "noassatall" which demands constant a belt. The drawstring alleviates that when the load is light. They got just enough stretch, are lightweight, and the Cordura blend makes em tough as woodpecker lips. Great Dane drool and associated giant paw swatting has led to no tears or stains thus far. Also the short length is right on the money, 30" inseam.
