RATING AND REVIEWS

Critical piece for sun/bug protection or layering.

5

This is the most game changing piece of gear that I have bought in the past 3 years. I pair with a baselayer (sequence for fall/winter, ignitor for summer) and do EVERYTHING outside with it for sun/bug/brush protection. I have worn it in SW Washington for conducting stream surveys in places I literally had to tunnel through hawthorn (most people use a machete, I just use my jacket). I had the worst mosquitoes of my life this summer and wouldn't leave my field house without it. I usually throw it on for chilly spring/winter MTB rides with my sequence baselayer underneath. I have ripped sleeves on 2 pairs but I would expect this as I am pushing this jacket to it's limits; I happily continue to buy them.

It's an athletic cut which is nice, but a tad bit more room is areas that require range of motion would be nice. I guess I should buy a large now.

Great fit!

A lightweight windshell that stands out to me due to a great, trim fit and a bit of stretch. This thing really fits me perfectly in the shoulders and waist, as opposed to previous options I've tried that provided a straighter cut w/ too much room in the belly and not enough room in the chest/shoulders (Patagonia Houdini). It also wicks moisture better than some windshirts and doesn't feel like a wet plastic bag when it gets sweaty. It looks pretty sharp and the hood cinch works perfectly. My only complaint is the cuffs---they're some of the loosest I've ever encountered. Combined with long arms for thumb loop use, the loose cuffs mean that they don't stay in place if worn normally, sliding down or catching in wind.

Be seen!

I bought this to be seen on my commute through the city or riding at night. It's brighter than I though based on the web photos. It's a great windbreaker. I don't use the rear pocket for a sac so I'm thinking of cutting off the belt straps. But great little jacket.

Wonderful, but ...

As a climber, I bought this wanting a super lightweight water and wind resistant jacket. It does that well. It is wicked light and compactable. I love that it can fold into itself, but when putting on a harness or just sitting with my back against something, the waist strap digs into my back and is very undesirable. I ended up just cutting that loop off. I can still stuff it and secure it to my harness with an exposed loop if folded properly. I can't knock it if you buy it for running though. Wonderful jacket.

Perfect Performer

I recently acquired this jacket because I was looking for an ultralight jacket for my adventures in the mountains. I am a climber, backcountry skier, mountain biker, paddler, and hiker living in the Northeast. This jacket is perfect for those active pursuits when you don't want to overheat but still need some protection against the elements. While climbing it blocks out that biting wind while allowing me to have my full range of motion. If the weather changes I can stuff its storage pocket, clip it to my harness or strap it on my back, and take it out again whenever I need it. Awesome jacket to add to the arsenal.

Great jacket all around

What I like of this jacket is that is perfect for those morning when you leave home and you don't know if you should or should not carry a jacket, it has saved me a couple of times when it is cold int he morning before the day warms up or late at night when getting of work and it looks great with khakis and work shirt, or at least that's what he compliments I have received said. It light, breathable and provides just the right amount of warmth when going out for late runs. The only con to this jacket in my opinion is that it doesn't have waist pockets and I keep on reaching trying to find pockets when there's none.
