My go-to jacket

Looks great and feels awesome. I really dig the bendable wire in the hood.

Ferrosi pants, shorts, hoody and now summit hoody...love all

5

I like just about everything that OR makes and the Ferrosi line is my personal favorite. I find use for them about 9 to 10 months of the year where I live (near Las Vegas, NV) and the summit hoody is the top of the line that I've seen. I really like the adjustments on the wrist and hood along with the extra pockets (over the regular Ferrosi hoody) and it gives a little more warmth even along with great wind blocking. Be sure to leave a little room for a sweatshirt or some mid layer though on cold days. Anything below 50 F will chill your bones if you have nothing but a T under the summit ferrosi. I find it best to wear from 50-70 degrees and as a shell over a sweatshirt or some thermal layer when it drops lower. If it hits below 30 F, then I switch to something else entirely (usually with core loft or prima loft in it then).

Very versatile jacket

I have only worn this (so far) while playing in the Ozark Mountains. While there are no alpine summits here, I love this jacket. I have used it mainly for bushwacking, walking the dog, and backpacking trips when it's warm enough that a puffy is not needed. This thing is like armor when bushwacking. Temps were in the low to mid 70's and sunny and I did not get too hot. Very breathable. I would trust this more for its ability to breathe than its wind stoppage. I have not used the hood with a helmet yet but the fit is best when the hood is on your head. Love the chest pocket access while wearing a pack. Overall, if I am in conditions in which a puffy is not needed then this is my go-to jacket. I think it is very versatile. I am 5'7", 147lbs and the medium fits great.

My All Season Soft-Shell

5

Sun beating down on you from an exposed crag? Hoping to keep the snow off you during an ice climb? Walking around town and want to look like a boss? This jacket will work! ;-) It breathes well enough to wear in the summer to keep the sun from burning you while climbing and is a good layer for winter to keep the snow from getting your down jacket wet. The upper pockets are great when wearing a harness and the hood is great with a helmet. There are soft-shells that have better water resistance than this one but in my opinion its breathable design makes it one of the best. It will keep your layers beneath dry and keep you from sweating. I take it everywhere.

Excellent

I am an avid fatbike rider located in the interior of Alaska. This is the perfect jacket for my outermost layer. The stretchy fabric and wind resistant qualities of the jacket make it a must. I HIGHLY recommend this jacket!

Awesome for all seasons

5

I've worn this jacket in the summer, fall and winter. In rain, snow and cold weather. This jacket breathes well. ts pretty durable and dries relatively quick when it gets wet. I'm 6'3" 210lbs. I bought a large. The sleeves are a little long for the XL so I went with the large. I layered up with a level 1 and 2 underneath when I went to Mt. Rainier and was warm. I was on the move the whole time. For movements this jacket is great. If I was static I probably would have put on another layer to stay warmer. Quality product :)

Great Touring Jacket

This is a great backcountry ski jacket. I have been using it from the start of this season. It keeps me dry on the snowy days yet it still has great breathability for breaking trail.

Fantastic softshell

5

The stretch cordura fabric is lightweight (not featherweight), durable and resistant to wind and moisture. The pockets have a mesh backing and are excellent for ventilation if unzipped. Full coverage hood with a functional brim. I've been using it as a winter shell for high to moderate activities and haven't been disappointed.

My favorite jacket

5

Ive had the Ferrosi Summit jacket for about 4 months now and have used it for everything from going to the store to trail running to hiking in the mountains. It has been great as a light weight layer in warmer temps to keep the chill away. In colder temps when I'm running or hiking it works great to keep in just enough body heat while breathing enough to keep me dry. It blocks wind and sheds light condensation from wet/ snowy brush (def not a fully waterproof rain shell but it is also not billed as one either) Im 6'6", 215lbs and the jacket fits me perfectly. Its on the trim side so I can get an insulation layer under it but probably not a very thick one. I don't have any problem throwing my puffy over the top of it though for lunch breaks or belay time. This is my favorite active wear jacket I have owned. Running, hiking, climbing on rock, snow or ice or just taking my dog for a walk. This jacket goes with me almost everywhere

Mount Rainier Worthy

5

I bought this jacket specifically for the climb to summit. It performed better than expected. It was my go to shell, good fit, breathed well and the chest pockets were clutch. One of the best soft shells and everyone I know that has one loves it too. Kiddos OR for another winner. I'm 5'8", 170lbs, Size Medium
