RATING AND REVIEWS

Stylish jacket that stands up to the elements

4

I love the color accents, warmth, and length of this jacket! PRO's - it's very warm and waterproof and I've stayed toasty on walks in the neighborhood (have owned it a month). CON's - the sleeves are long for an extra small, so I have to roll up the cuffs a bit, and the zippers can be sticky. The zipper thing is an issue I've had with other OR jackets, which may be due to their approach to waterproofing the zipper lines?

I would buy this product again in a larger size.

I didn't - had to return because it was too small....

Excellent waterproof winter parka

This is the best and most versatile jacket I have ever owned, and I love it despite a few flaws. I have owned it for 3 months and wear it constantly it in the wet, cold Pacific Northwest for hiking, snow shoeing, and backpacking, as well as commuting by ferry and foot to my job in Seattle. When it first arrived I was skeptical it would provide adequate protection because it is so lightweight, but it's absolutely waterproof, windproof, and decently warm, and dries in a few minutes after a torrential downpour. This parka has a nice fit that never feels bulky, and is very lightweight. The hood fits perfectly and never moves off my head even in wildly gusty wind conditions. I am 5' 6" and 115 lbs., and the small fits perfectly with extra room for extra layers underneath and longer sleeves that fit my arms well and allow for movement. However, I wish the front zipper was better made since it's too lightweight and appears to be flimsy plastic, and it constantly jams and won't zip if the end isn't exactly perfectly inserted (tricky to do with gloves on). It could also be warmer, and I'd recommend OR add more insulation or a microfleece liner since I've gotten cold if it's below 30 degrees and I'm not exercising (If you tend to get cold easily, I wouldn't recommend this coat for resort skiing, unless you're okay with adding lots of layers underneath). The chest pocket is super handy, but the pocket zipper pull ends up right underneath the seatbelt when I'm driving and digs into my chest, which is annoying. I also wish it had interior security pockets like many competitors. The bottom line: an outstanding and versatile coat for mildly cold wet winter conditions, but not perfect.

Asia women sizing

Well, bought the Floodlight Down Parka as gift for my wife. Unfortunately it's sized to fit Bangladesh women, from of which it was made. Got an X-large to be safe, but for non Asian women, it fits between Med/Lg.

SOOO Happy with this purchase

5

I tend to run colder than most others & heard about this jacket from a co-worker. I purchased this for running errands in town during winter in Seattle and for a big Europe vacation I'm taking in January. I've had it for about a week and am SUPER happy with the quality and performance so far.

My Favorite Winter Coat Ever

5

I've waited years to buy a new winter coat. After doing research and learning that this coat was made from ethically sourced down it was a no-brainer! I could not be more satisfied with this coat - it is lightweight, fits well, has good mobility and it is SO warm!

Use this parka everyday

5

I use this parka everyday. The rainy and cold days it has kept me warm and dry. Love the midnight blue color. It goes with everything I own. I wish there was an inside pocket to hold a phone or small wallet. Based on my athletic build measurements I had to order a XL even though I am only 5'1". The length is long and wish this would be offered in petite size.

This coat is warm and cozy!

5

Purchased this coat to have something warm for winters that was long enough to cover my bum. It's waterproof which is a must in the PNW and very warm. Planning on using it for skiing, traveling, and snowshoeing. The only thing is the sleeves are a bit long, but not bad enough to return! Just cinch down the velcro and you're good to go.

Not as good as warm as previous model

1

I own a stable and am outside most of the day with the horses. I loved previous versions of this jacket. The floodlight line are the lightest, warmest, truly waterproof jackets I have found. I don't like that this version is so long, and hate that they decreased from 800 to 650 fill. It doesn't feel as warm and I can't use it to ride since it is too long. Unfortunately, I hate it. Truly disappointing considering the price.
