RATING AND REVIEWS

Super durable and comfortable

5

These are amazing. I put quite a bit of time into researching these pants, and I could not be more happy with having them. On top of being comfortable and durable for two solid seasons of use so far, I had a particularly impressive experience with these pants last weekend. While glissading, I punctured a small pencil tip sized hole in the thigh of these pants. The hole was barley noticing, but when I finished my trip I noticed that I had in fact sustained a pretty significant gash in my leg. The tiny hole in the fabric hid the fact that the ax had broke skin. The lack of a significant tear in these pants is incridible. I will recommend these pants to anyone I climb with.

Great mountain pants

5

Excellent Mountain pants. Material is just right, pocket placement is good. Leg opening/cuff is good, I use a bungie to keep them down on my boots, especially in snow. I have several iterations of these pants with different names from over the years with OR. This is the simplest design yet. The only feature I don't use is the velcro waist tabs, might work well for some folks, but I wear a belt. I would like slightly deeper hand pockets to hold a spot, cellphone, or older inreach a little better, although once they get too big the leg loops on a harness start to constrict the bottom of a longer pocket so maybe that was thought through in the design process.

Great fit, breathable, wind proof

My husband loved these pants! Has skiied multiple times (both downhill and cross country) in them, as well as shoveling snow and they've held up great in Rocky Mountain winter.

OR Cirque Pants stand up to SAR Missions in N. AZ

5

I wear the OR Cirque Pant on Search and Rescue missions in rugged Northern Arizona. They are lightweight and breathable yet tough enough for snowshoeing while on a recent rescue mission for out of bounds snowboarders on the San Francisco Peaks ( Feb 17, 2019). I also wore them while driving a tracked vehicle and hiking on a search near Long Lake that turned into a body recovery (March 11, 2019). They repelled light snow and a lot of mud that day. Great pants!

Awesome pants for Winter/Spring hiking and ice climbing

4

I really enjoyed the pants. I wore them with a merino under layer and never got too hot, nor cold or sweaty during a two day outing in cold weather, deep snow, doing winter camping and hiking the steepest parts of the mountain with crampons or snowshoes and a heavy pack.

I want a second pair!

I bought them because of the amazing reviews I read all over the place in different websites, and decided to try them for myself. Needless to say, I absolutely love them! Great fit and they are so comfortable while hiking!

Great Pants, fit small

5

Size Large fit smaller than other product. Check for the right fit, try to find a store that carries the pants before ordering online.

Would buy again, but...

My wife and I purchased the Cirque pants for ice climbing. The men's fit a but snug in the thighs, good around the boots though and wish they were a bit longer. And oddly enough the women's version are more baggy than the mens, and also too short. I'm 6 foot 180 lb athletic build 32x32 inch inseam and my wife is 5'8" and the women's version for her are about 2 inches too short. So, there you have it... They still work great but I wouldn't yet consider them quite perfect (but very close)

Excellent winter cycling pants

5

I bought these to wear for winter cycling - off-road fatbiking, often for extended periods. While I haven't been able to use them yet on a daylong ride, I have logged about six hours in them now and I'm very pleased with their fit (especially at the waist), the very durable construction (including great touches like the reinforced cuffs and articulated knees), and especially the way they're warm but not hot. Opening the pockets provided a surprising amount of venting! All in all, these are great pants for riding. Notes: I got a men's M, which fits me (5'10" and 190#) well - a bit more like loose tights than snug pants, especially over my thighs.

Discussions

I am 6'4" with a 32" waist and 34-36" inseam, will large be too baggy in the waist?

SkinnyB

The size large would be a bit baggy in the waist, but you can use the velcro side tabs to synch it down as needed, the issue is your inseam as the cirques all listed as a 33" inseam which might be to short for your needs unless you are wearing ski or mountaineering boots.

Q&A_Admi

Hi, what are specs for XXL size?

Steven

Hi Steven, A size XXL has a 42" waist, a 50" low hip measurement, and an inseam of 35". Thank for contacting OR,

Paul

I can't tell from your sizing whether I take a medium or small in this alpine pants. I want them for snow shoeing, light mountain climbling(18000 and below), tough, light weight, warm, but with good ventilation if exertion climbing, resistant to crampon cuts, flexible, and water and wind resistant. Any recommendations are welcome- please. These pants are for a male who is 5'7 and 150 lbs and has short legs with an inseam of 29 inches and waist of 32.

Gary

Hi Gary, A size Small has a waist measurement of 30" and increases 3" for each additional size up. The inseam measurement for a size Small is 31 and increases 1" for each additional size up. Based on your waist measurement we would recommend a size Medium. The pants have adjustable tabs at the waist or you may use a belt if the pants if there is too much room in the waist. If you needed an insulated version of this pant, consider the Alpenice Pants. Thanks for contacting OR,

Paul

What is the waist size of size small?

Victor

Hi Victor, The waist size is 30" for a Small, and increases 3" for each additional size up. Thanks for contacting OR,

Paul

How should these pants be washed/cleaned? Do they have a DWR coating that needs to be refreshed every now and then?

Caleb

Hi Caleb, Sorry for the late response. The Cirque pants do have a DWR coating that needs to be refreshed occasionally. We recommend either using a small amount of non-detergent soap (or technical wash), and following up with an extra rinse cycle and a low heat tumble dry cycle. We recommend using Nikwax Tech Wash and Softshell Proof, they sell it as a pack (Softshell DuoPack). Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

On the website, sizes are listed as S, M, L, XL. However, the Size and Fit Guide at the bottom of the page lists measurements in inches or centimeters. If I have a 36" waist and a 32" inseam, which size would you recommend I order?

Bob Labrie

Hi Bob, I would go with the Large. A size Large has a 36" waist and a 33" inseam measurement. If you needed more room to accommodate layering, a size XL has a 39" waist and 34" inseam. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

I'm a 33" waist, 30" inseam. Should I buy a large?

Brandon

You're on the lower end of size Large, but you can use the velcro tabs on the sides to adjust the waist to fit.
