RATING AND REVIEWS

Awesome pants. Lg size is a little tight in my boots.

Love the build quality. Size large is a little tight on my size 12 snowboard boots.

Where's the Glacier Blue for 2018/19?

4

Love these pants but returned my first pair because the pant cuffs were too tight over my Dalbello AT boots. I would like another pair but only if you've made the cuff diameter larger and sell them in the cool, Glacier Blue.

I'd buy it again if needed

The product is good, just a tad heavy. I prefer the plain Gortex pullover pants that OR makes, not the helium but the other ones. Anyway this product is made well, but for my taste it is heavy. I could just as easily put on some under layers to compensate for warmth if I went with a lighter feel gortex. Like I said prior great product just heavy for my taste.

Perfect Armor for Challenging Alpine Conditions

5

I work full time as a climbing guide in the Northwest and for the past few years, these have been my go to pant when I need something to keep out the weather while getting hammered by one of the storms constantly blowing in off the Pacific. The full zips are crucial to adjusting layers easily on the go, the fly zipper allows me to still use my belay loop while wearing the pants over a harness, and the construction ensures that my legs stay warm and dry regardless of what the storm is throwing at us.

Great pants

5

These pants work and perform awesomely. The full length side zips are great for putting on over boots and venting while hiking. They are pretty durable, waterproof and stretch with your movement. I had originally bought a size medium and they fit snug but didn't bother me. I had used them for summer and fall but when winter came they wouldn't fit my RAB Photon pants so i ordered a large. They large actually fits a lot better and are a lot more comfortable even without the RAB photon pants on, so the large will be my year round use. My wife now wears the medium and she loves them. I'm 5'9" and wear a 34" waist for my pants with a little room. These pants are sized for a 34" waist but have a elastic stretch for the waist band so they will fit a little bigger then that. But i would recommend following the sizing chart and not, its pretty on.

Great everything shell

5

So far I have used these for everything I can think of; as a rain shell on the Inka Trail, for skiing at the resort, as a fatbike shell, ice climbing, and back country skiing. I am a HUGE fan of these shells, they are lightweight, simple, packable, and the material slides easily over whatever base you use so there is very little resistance making big steps ice climbing. I especially like the water resistant side zips so they can easily be put on and taken off over crampons/ski boots. I've only had these for a few months, so I cant comment on their overall durability, but they still look and feel brand new. Probably used them for approximately 35 days or so for various activities.

Great material and weight

4

The fit is snug, not sure if my knee brace will fit and ride smoothly under these. I will know in a month when I get on snow. The features all seem to be top notch, zippers, adjustments, gaiter, etc. Read the reviews, pay attention to the material and mind your waistline.

Pretty Good Alpine Pant

3

I've gone through 3 pairs of these pants now. The first 2 pants needed to be repaired since the lower leg delaminated and several tears occurred on the front of shin. To their credit, I put them through the ringer and they still stood (mostly) strong through 400+ miles of skiing, hiking, snowshoeing Yellowstone's backcountry. I will say that the new Trim fit is no good. I spend a lot of time in the mountains, 600-1000 miles/year in the Rockies, so my legs get big! The trim fit is very tight around the quads and causes discomfort when making high or long steps. I preferred these pants pre-2015 before they decided to make them trimmer. Overall, a really great shell that you can wear layers under and the full side zip gives you a lot of ventilation options. If you tend to have big quads/hamstrings, they may not be the best fit for you.

Good durable shell

5

Got these for our search and rescue team. Great shell. Personally not a huge fan of the built in gaiters, but they do zip out (still have weight and bulk of the zipper). Some folks like them, some don't. These aren't the lightest and most packable shell pant out there, so if you're looking to go light probably better options, but we love them for their bombproof design. Often bushwacking through the brush and so far so good on durability, waterproof and easy to vent with full zips. Perhaps a bit heavy for summer use, but if you want one shell for year round use highly recommended.

Perfect fit, perfect pants, work excellently just a intended

5

Fit is perfect, no loose fabric flapping around, side zippers make them very convenient to put on and remove with crampons on. I love the removable zip out gaiters, they're perfect worn with winter boots when playing outside with the kids and I always leave them at home when on mountaineering and climbing trips where I use mountaineering boots and gaiters.
