RATING AND REVIEWS

Greatest Backcountry Hardshell

5

This jacket is amazing. Was finally able to take it out with the traverse pant and had the most comfortable day in the backcountry in it. Did a 7 mile round trip in it and was never uncomfortable. The stretch panel in the back was great and made wearing a pack that much better, This along with the traverse pant has made for the best longer day in the backcountry yet!

Most excellent shell

5

This is a really solid shell. I replaced my old Maximus jacket with this one and I could not be happier. I am 5'11" and 175lbs, and the medium Maximus fit well but was snug. The medium on the hemispheres jackets has just enough more room, and it moves and breathes very well. Highly recommended.

He love's this jacket!

5

I gave this jacket to my son an he loves it! Its a great outer shell that he uses when he goes backcountry and alpine skiing in Colorado! He loves the weight and ventilation that this jacket offers and the color that I got him. He just keeps thanking me for such a great Christmas gift. He highly recommends this jacket.

Great fit and amazing features.

5

The new OR Hemisphere Jacket is top notch. I was skeptical given their fits from previous years but they hit it out the park with this one. A more "freeride" fit which I need does the job super well. It's still a tailored fit but not super tight. Great shell that is super lightweight and easy to layer with if needed. Only thing I would add would be a sleeve pocket for your lift pass. I'm all OR from here on out!

Great product

5

The jacket is great. Can't wait to get it out in some bad weather. If you are looking for a jacket to keep you dry this is a winner. If you're looking for a jacket to keep you warm look at another model.

Comfortable and functional jacket

5

This jacket has proven to be comfortable, stylish and functional on the wet winter Coast and on the snow resort. The velcro wrist enclosures are a good length, zippers seem to be durable, and the assortment of pockets is handy for a day on the slopes. The clean finish and styling makes the jacket versatile for use in town and on adventures.

The hardshell of my dreams

5

This jacket out performs any hardshell ive owned in the past. OR really reduced the amount of material in the arms of this jacket (Compared to last years White Room Jacket), making for better mobility and less bulk. The light weight and superior breathability of this jacket is unlike any piece of gear i've ever tested, and it allows you to skin to the summit and ski down without stopping to put on or take off layers.. Im stoked to see if this jacket has the durability to hold up for years to come. Im 5'10 160, I like my snowboard gear a little big so I went with a Large and love the fit. Its a little long on the arms but the jacket hangs nice and low to make up for no powder skirt.

Solid Jacket - great update from previous model

5

This is a solid jacket. I used to have the Maximist jacket, but this updated line is far better. Great movement with the stretch panels, and feel like it's going to last. Haven't put it through the wringer quite yet, but I'm pretty confident it'll hold up to the test.

The all-around jacket I've been dreaming of, honestly....

5

I lost about 35 lbs recently and needed a new ski jacket. I LITERALLY researched, shopped and explored jackets for 3 months, searching for a jacket which could serve multiple purposes (in the pow, the rain, fly fishing, etc.) and which had a nice design aesthetic so that I could wear it to dinner on a rainy day in the warmer months. I literally couldn't find one I was happy with. Luckily, I found the Hemispheres, which has more substance AND style than I was even hoping to find. Meets or exceeds every tech claim made in the description. It's 100% worthy of all of the awards/accolades it's receiving.

Discussions

I just purchased this jacket for skiing, I ski only at Sugarloaf in Maine, where it is quite cold in December, January, and February. I am concerned that this jacket will not provide adequate warmth, even with a base layer. What do you recommend that I wear underneath it?

Paul

for your location in the country, I would recommend a synthetic insulated jacket like our refuge or ascendant, both would pair nice under the hemispheres for additional warmth
