RATING AND REVIEWS

Awesome

Awesome pants. Used for snowshoeing and back country touring and split boarding. Super breathable. Right amount of stretch and a good number of pockets for all your backcountry needs. Love the beacon pocket. I found the bib suspenders uncomfortable though and removed them and haven't used them since the first day.

Good feature set, however a bit more tailored than I'd like

The choices for NON waterproof ski pants are decreasing at an alarming rate. I guide in Alberta, BC and Japan and choose NOT to ski when it's raining. Therefore I prefer high breathability, wind resistant pants. Gore Windstopper was the perfect fabric package, but I can't find any pants with that material anymore. The feature set is rich and these pants have everything I need. Cons: the zipper fly is too short, especially when wearing a harness. The pants are too fitted in the legs - more like an alpine climbing fit than a ski touring pant.

Excellent Back Country pants.

I love the fit and breathability of these pants. They are the best ski pants I've owned. I like the expandable cuff at the bottom, I can open them up for my downhill boots and still use them for hiking, snow, or x country ski boots. The back of the pant also goes up just high enough to keep the snow out when I've fallen. The suspenders add just enough extra support to keep me comfortable. Once you get used to threading it, the power strap slots in the gaiter have been a huge benefit for boot adjustment. The only complaint I have is that the stretchy beacon pocket is not shaped quite right for pulling my tracker 3 beacon out very quickly (but it does keep it in place).

Bomber Ski Pants for Wet Siskiyou Conditions

5

In this last week I have used my new Trailbreaker pants on two ski tours in the Siskiyou's here in Southern Oregon. One of the tours was nine hours of slogging through fairly wet snow as it came down upon us. The pants never got wet and I remained dry and warm throughout the adventure. Wet snow flying around and sticking to me and my layers is I think really the worst conditions for combatting hypothermia. I was warm, happy and dry all day in these pants. The venting was superb with the long side zippers and I had plenty of extra pocket capacity for my gloves, beacon and sundries on this 9 hour tour. Great pants! Thank you OR. Strong work.

Breaking trail, breaking wind

These pants are comfortable and well designed. They breathe, they stretch, the pockets are useful, and if you are looking to get that touring chic thing going, they got that too. I removed the suspenders as they didn't seem to really be all that functional given the stretchy nature of the waist, and I am just wearing a belt. I'd do it again!

Freedom!

I've worn these pants backcountry skiing and winter hiking and they are the best. Great ventilation and range of motion and stretch. Outstanding pocket locations and the suspenders move with you to or you can remove them. These are now my dedicated backcountry ski pants!

Great trousers, just ordered a second pair.

5

Not a deal breaker, the suspenders could be a bit wider and of thinner material. Big fan of Schoeller ski trousers, and these are the best replacements I have found so far.

Well designed backcountry pants

Lots of pockets, including a beacon pocket. Big vents. That's what I'm looking for in my backcountry pants. I'll admit the suspenders were chafing my chest and causing the fabric of my underlayer to pile-up. So I topped using them.
