Merino wool has long been heralded as nature's best temperature-regulating fabric. With the ability to hold onto heat in cold temps, manage moisture in humidity or during strenuous activity, and dry quickly in any type of wet environment, there's no doubt as to why we choose merino wool for one of our most important layers: the foundation. For chilly backpacking, mountaineering, or skiing trips, and for humid hiking, paddling, and climbing excursions, the Alpine Onset Collection are the base layers you need to keep your temperature in check. Using 83% merino wool with a touch of nylon and spandex for extra mobility, each Alpine Onset piece features a trim fit as your next-to-skin layer for easy layering and efficient temperature control. A flat seam construction prevents chafing, and a lightweight, compact design makes it easy to fit an extra layer or two in your pack. Plus, merino wool naturally blocks odors - making it an easy winner that both you and your tentmate will appreciate.

Super comfy baselayer

I wear these layers everyday at work as a ski patroller. They are a perfect weight for daily use and keep me warm and comfortable.

Comfy and warm

Nice enough to wear around work and tech enough to wear on the trails whether backcountry or on resort this winter. Ins't itchy list some other merino wools. Sleeves were longer than expected. I'm right between a medium and large for shirts. Will be able to add additional layers underneath is needed.

Got it for my wife, and she loves everything about it. The two-toned purple looks really good, the cut is flattering, and the neck line is attractive. Win!

Super soft, and warm

The fabric is super soft and quite warm. I've warn this both touring in the backcountry in SW Colorado, as well as downhill skiing at the local ski resort and felt it regulated my body temp well in both conditions. The only downside is the fit I found to be a little large, mainly because the fabric stretches out really easily.

I would not buy this product again..

I ordered the smallest size and it was too long in the sleeves and body. In order to wear it I cut four inches off the length and rolled up the sleeves. I like the material because it is a merino wool and I needed a warm top.

Yay for Merino & New Sizing

5

Hooray for Outdoor Research quality and design in a merino base layer! Fabric is comfortable against my skin. Seaming across the upper chest is very flattering. And with the revised sizing for women, I notice my shoulders and upper arms have just a little more space, which feels good.
