First appearance looks great

Haven't gotten to test it yet, but love the fit feels great.

you need this for autumn

When the weather is cold and windy, this jacket is the perfect layer. I wear this layer for climbing and other areobic activities and it is very breathable. The outer wind proof fabric functions to keep out the elements and and stop the inner clamminess at the same time. The inner fleece layer does not hold stink and body odor like other lined jackets.

Perfect Layer For Alpine Endeavors

Whether I'm cragging, backcountry skiing, or alpine climbing, I've been reaching for this jacket as my trust partner to bring along. It's lightweight, warm below freezing temps (as long as you're moving!), and resists light snow/rain. Outside, the fabric is wind resistant which make it great for alpine pursuits where the wind can be brutal. The inside is lined with fuzzy fleece which is soft and cozy against my skin. I haven't found another jacket that is as cozy, comfortable, functional, and well fitted as this jacket. On a few trips, I've put on the hoody and bivied in this jacket along with an added puffy. Highly recommended if you're looking for a light/mid weight jacket that can do it all.

Best mid-layer ever

Love the ascendant hoodie. This is everything you could ask for in a mid-layer and more. It fits amazing, is very comfortable and even flattering.

Perfect midlayer/jacket!

This is such an awesome jacket- feels like the perfect light layer in shoulder seasons and will hold its own as a midlayer come winter. Looks nicer than a softshell IMO. Runs large. I'm typically a medium in OR tops/ pretty standard size 8 so thought I'd need to size up. It fits but it's not cute the way it hangs- and as quality as it is I'm not going to need to worry about layering UNDER it as much as I thought.

Light and warm!!

I wore this jacket when I hiked Mt Kilimanjaro. I was all I needed until I summited and then I added the Interstellar Jacket outside and it was perfect. Love this jacket and can't wait to wear it in the USA now! :)

Great active layer

This is a great ski layer and active mid layer.

Love it!

I use this as a guide, and as a normal person. :) I love it! It's warm enough, cool enough, and super comfy!

Love it

This jacket is great. It's very lightweight and a great insulating layer. It blocks light wind well when used as an outer layer, yet is still breathable. It's fairly easy to stuff into it's pocket and clip to your harness. I think it's a little silly that the pockets don't all have zippers, but I'm very happy with this purchase.

How do the Ascendant Hoody and the Uberlayer Hoody compare in terms of warmth, breathability, water resistance, fit?

Hi Stillgoing, The Ascendant Hoody has a little less warmth, much more breathable, and a little more water resistance. The Uberlayer is about an 1" smaller in the chest, otherwise they fit the same. Thanks for contacting OR,
