Very pleased with the packability but disappointed that there were no side pockets. I don't see what a back pocket is good for - who wants to sit on their camera or wallet.

Small waist, baggy legs

I personally own the male small version. I bought the female small version for my wife. The waist is slightly more narrow than the men's but the legs are equally wide. This makes it particularly baggy on her. It makes little sense to me.

kept me dry for a week of camping and hiking in the bush during the pouring rain. Wore the matching Aspire jacket and was a happy and dry camper. love the OR gear

Awkward fit that doesn't make them functional

2

My OR Aspire pants ripped after just 10 uses. I was using them for a few day hikes in the Alps and after a few days discovered a tear in the back. So I don't think the material is all that durable. More importantly I found the fit really awkward. They are quite short with a 30" inseam (and I'm saying that as a petite person who is only 5'2" and the cuff is way too wide so it doesn't create any kind of elastic/band/seal around your boots. With such short, wide, pants it's easy for rainwater or puddlewater to slosh under them and into your boots or onto the pants you're wearing underneath. I also used them on one rainy bike ride and found the same awkward fit to reduce their functionality in the rain when cycling. Definitely not worth the high price! Luckily OR sent me these as a consolation for taking forever to process my other warranty request. The benefits of these pants is that they're lightweight and packable and apart from the shortness, they are fairly comfy if you wear comfy layers underneath.

Solid rain pants

3

Great pants, super waterproof, breathable, and packable--perfect for hiking and biking in the rain. They don't feel quite durable enough for heavy use skiing--but with caution I've been okay so far. My biggest problem is the lack of front pockets! One rear pocket isn't nearly enough! They're also a little bulky in the thighs for me, but it's not enough to be cumbersome.

Great multi-purpose pants

5

I purchased these pants primarily for biking to work in the rain/snow and for walking the dogs in the rain. They have plenty of range of movement for biking and the fabric seems durable yet surprisingly lightweight. Ideally, the ankle closure would be Velcro or something with the ability to close them tighter if desired. They way they are, they're pretty wide -fine for boots, but they would definitely ride up when biking if they weren't plenty long. I'm 5'4, 120lbs and bought a small.

Awesome rain pants

4

These pants are great for what they are made for : keep you dry. They are a little bit wide at the leg so if you are biking you will need to strap them to your leg with a velcro strap. They are really light and packable witch is good because they don't take a lot of room in your bag as we don't (greatfully) need them all the time!
