I'm 5'8", 135 lbs and I wear either Small or Medium in OR products. I purchased the Medium Deviator Hoody, which is not skin tight like the pictures. Even though I would prefer it to be more fitted, the Small felt two sizes smaller! Definitely runs small.
With that said, It is a great lightweight mid layer, with little extra warmth/insulation on the front, but breathable on the back and arms. Great for any outdoor activity (hiking, skiing/skinning, rock climbing, camping...) or just around town.

I am surprised at the rave reviews this jacket has gotten. I love OR products and have other great jackets, etc. from them. I got this jacket in grey and boy, is it dumpy-looking (first minor flaw). More importantly, on a cold run this morning (20s, feels like single digits), I wore a Craft baselayer underneath. That's it. Was fine, temp-wise but (next two flaws) could hardly get the jacket over the baselayer - it got stuck in the sleeves; and when I got home and took the jacket off, I was soaked. Other OR (and other brand) winter running/active jackets breathe and wick better. Still, a decent jacket and everyone else (who buys it) loves it (also wish the waist pockets zipped).

    Comments about Women's Deviator Hoody:

The deviator hoody is the perfect piece for cold weather defense. You can wear the hoody as an outer layer during cold weather aerobic activities. This hoody is also the perfect piece for layering under a puffy or a shell. The fabric does not bind to other fabrics, allowing the sleeves and torso to lay flat under any jacket. I also like this hoody when chilling out around the house or the coffee shop.

        Comments about Women's Deviator Hoody:

I love this layer, but be warn: holding a warm mug of coffee near your belly will melt the fabric. Sadly, I have done this twice. This design feature makes this a great layer for activity, but a poor layer for a sunday morning reading and sipping coffee.

        Comments about Women's Deviator Hoody:

Wasn't sure how I would feel about the purple, but absolutely love it so far. The insulation on the front is exactly where a lady likes a little extra warmth. Brilliant. Thought I would want zippered pockets, but on such a slim fit hoody, the only things I want in the pockets regularly are my hands. And my hands love the pockets. Speaking of slim fit, I would recommend ordering up a size from your normal O.R. size if you have curves, because it is a bit more snug than their typlcal sizing.

        Comments about Women's Deviator Hoody:

I wear this as my second layer with a shell over top. Super comfortable, thick enough to wear alone when it warms up, handy pockets. The hood is very warm and perfect layered over a thin hat. I usually wear a small and did have to size up to medium.

        Comments about Women's Deviator Hoody:

This is a great light weight piece for layering for any outdoor activity. It has been my go to top layer for runs this winter. Attached hood is convenient for extra protection. Deep pockets with secure key snap and breast zip pocket are two features that I appreciate.

        Ok, but not great

        Comments about Women's Deviator Hoody:

I have been looking for a top like this for a while and really wanted to love this top, but it just has a few fatal flaws. First, it is too short in the front (the back is tailed and thus fine in length)! This is one of my biggest pet peeves. I wore this running and backcountry skiing, and in both cases (far more with running) it was too short in the front and came up enough to create a cold air gap as my arms moved. Very annoying. The bottom also flares out too much (to accommodate hips???) and if you use the elastic band to pull it in, the design of it pulls the front right of the hem up creating an even bigger issue in short length. It also fits pretty snug. I am a true small (5'6", 125 lbs) and could only fit a single, thin layer underneath. The pros are that it really does conduct heat well and the hood is snug and sleeves long (thank you for that!). The blue color is really nice. If it were longer in front length I would give it a higher rating, but cold air gaps are the worst!

        Comments about Women's Deviator Hoody:

I love this layer. Small is true to size. I can easily accomidate a baselayer under the deviator and easy to layer over. I've been wearing this layer for winter fat biking and skate skiing. Great wicking ability. I'd recommend zippered pockets. I just don't trust keepign anything in there. Also I'd remove the the adjusters in the pockets, they just look wierd... like I have something bumpy in my pocket. I don't use the tighterner and I wouldn't store my keys in there, even clipped in..

This piece comes with me many places. From hiking, biking, simple camping trips, out walking the dog and even lounging around the house. It is breathable for higher intensity activities, while wicking and drying quickly so the wind doesn't get me chilled at the summit.
