RATING AND REVIEWS

MY GO TO OUTDOOR PANT!

5

I have several pairs of these pants and absolutely love them. Super light weight, repels some rain, and dries super fast! Ridiculously comfortable.

Great pants but long!

4

These pants are much thinner than I expected, but they move really well. They are also very long on me, I'm 5.2", they have the sinch feature, but the extra material balloons over and it looks weird, however I does help at the ankle and doesn't look too odd. They are a nice material, very stretchy, and held up to scrapes and abrasions well.

OBSESSED! Hiking pants or PJS?

5

I bought these pants because one of my coworkers had them and they looked like PJs, so I had to get some! Best decision ever.

these are the best pants for just about everything

5

I am a physical therapist and wear these pants in the variety of colors all the time. All the therapists I work with want them too!! I also have traveled all over the country and Europe with these and they work as casual pants, comfy travel pants, hiking, and dress up well too! Don't ever stop making these just the way they are!

Good pants

4

I use these pants to climb and for casual activity. I originally got size 4 which is my normal pants size and the waist is way too big. Size 2 and the fit of the whole pant is too tight, as I like the looser fit. Of the pair that I got that is size 4, the back pockets got holes in them quickly and I had to re-sew one of the ankle synchers after it ripped out in one of the first uses. I still wear them often because I like them a lot, I just wish they were a bit more durable and had a better fit.

Best Article of Clothing Carried on the JMT

5

I wore these on a through hike of the John Muir Trail. Hands down the best article of clothing I brought. The hike was in Aug, Northern California so lightweight sun protection was a necessity. These exceeded expectations. If it was too hot, I could easily roll up the pants for some ventilation. They were extremely comfortable and had a lot of stretch for activity, but not too much stretch which often leads to the pants walking down. Water resistant in light rain. The seat of the pants didn't dry as quickly as some of my other packpacking clothes, but I appreciate the sturdier construction for scaling rocks and other debris. These pants hit up higher up the waist than some of my other backpacking pants. (OR I would love a high waisted backpacking pant- one that rises above the pack's or a harness's waist band. :) I was delighted to find these come in Long. Normally Im a 32.5 inseam, however, these pants hit the top of my ankles. I hike in low top solomon, so it was a drag when using the drawstring to keep out debris. However, if you are hightop boot person, it would be perfect. And easy fix light weight gaiters. I would have preferred a little more length. (If only ladies sizing was more like mens). These are definitely my favorite backpacking pants I own.

Great for hiking and climbing!

5

I used this pants more frequently than any other pants this summer. It worked well for hiking and rock climbing. I wore this mostly on long trad routes this summer. I also wore this for hiking in Japan alps this fall. It is light weight and soft material, thus feels good to my skin.

well on the way to a pair in every color

5

I initially got the zip-off version of these for canoeing, then got a full-length pair in another color, then got ANOTHER full-length pair in a third color because I just get so much use out of them. I work as a park ranger and I use the green ones as my backcountry uniform pants. The waistband design makes them super comfortable when paddling or wearing a backpack for hours on end, and they dry out super quick after you've sweated through them or went for an unintentional swim. I'm 5'6" and got the regular length size 14's and they're just a liiiiiiittle too long, but the elastic cuff helps with that.

Love, but the pilling is an issue

3

After one 2 day trip I noticed pilling on the seat area and front of quads. I love these pants already, but they look like they have had years of use.

How's the stretch? Looking for a rock climbing pant.

Kel

Hi Kel, These pants have a good amount of stretch, I use them for various activities. I'd say they would be great for rock climbing as they are lightweight and breathable. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

Could you please tell me the difference in color between "pewter" and "shade"? I love these pants--they are the best!!!

Heather

Hi Heather, The Pewter is a rich shade of gray. The Shade is more like a blue-gray. I think the best representation of the color would be the Van Courtland Blue/HC-145 paint color from Benjamin Moore. Thanks for contacting OR, Paul

Is the crotch gusseted? And if so, how big is the gusset? I.e. is it rectangular, or oval shaped?

LISL

Hi LISL, the Women's Ferrosi Pants do not feature a gusseted crotch. Cheers!

How does the drawstring cuff on the women's Ferrosi pant work or stay tight? Can the pant convert to a capri style with the drawstring cuff?

Kelly

There is a spring-loaded cord lock that maintains tension on the cord. You could cinch the drawcord and roll up the cuff for more of a capris style.
