A "must have"

I first purchased this jacket 4 or 5 years ago, and still wear it to this day. On all of my backpacking adventures and random hiking, biking, climbing excursions, it has yet to let me down. With it's packability, I rarely leave home without it.

Amazing versatile jacket that is windproof and waterproof. Great for trail running, hiking, and cross county/ backcountry skiing. Packs small so you'll never leave it behind. I'm 5'5'' and 135 lbs and the Medium fits well with lots of room for winter layers.

This is the lightest rain jacket I have ever owned. Excited to have it in my pack all the time. I have the bright green colour and love it!

Great Purchase!

I love how compact the jacket is! Hood cinch is nice and keeps the hood formed so you can always see. I do wish there were pockets at the hips, but with a crazy lightweight jacket they are understandably absent.

Best of the Best

By far this is the very best rain jacket /shell I have ever, ever owned! I have worn it for multiple day hikes and 2 backpack trips and it performed perfectly in damp, cold weather as outer layer and kept me completely dry in a 2-hour downpour. Beyond its impeccable function it is styled beautifully. I now wear it around town for errands -- even walking the dog. Two of my friends have now purchased it because they liked mine so well! There is nothing I can think of that would improve it -- just don't change it!

Worth every penny

Wanted to lighten up my pack weight and was SO glad I picked this up for a 5-day Fall backpacking trip in the Sierras. Not only did it pack down super-small it stayed dry and warm (without being clammy at all) during a sudden thundershower on Day 3 of the trip. Merely popped open the velcro and voila! on it went. Zipper glides easily, roomy fit for layers in cold weather (boxy shaped), cinches at the waist and hood (non-slip) with a enough room to wear a helmet or beanie comfortably. My new favorite outwear for ALL outdoor adventures. Hubby eyed my Helium II with envy for its pack-ability, weight, size, and overall function. You'll get a lot of questions and interest about this one out on the trail or paddling on the water!

Keeping rain out since 2014

I love this jacket. I have had it for 2 years now and have loved it for its light weight and small packing size. I have used it skiing, kayaking, climbing, and fishing in the rain, hiking and kicking around town. It has never let me down. It is more breathable than your typical rain jacket; however it is no soft shell. It has a plasticky feel but still stretches a small amount. Not super durable for climbing rock but good to throw on your harness just in case.

Fantastic ultra-lightweight rain jacket

After testing this jacket out over the past few months, I love how compressible and compact this jacket is! I love how easily I can transport it in packs, clipped on my harness during multipitch climbs, or inside a bike seat pouch. It's great as a windbreaker or as a emergency rain layer. I use it mainly on day trips in summer conditions and so far it's performed well. Be aware that this jacket is no frills- one small chest pocket, and very simple cinchers at the hem and hood. I did have an issue with the zipper-the slider tab came off after it's second use. I've had issues with YKK zippers before with other brand's jackets so I feel like it's an isolated defect. Still gave it 5 stars!

Great lightweight rain jacket

This jacket performs just as well as my heavier rain gear, and is much more packable and breathable.

I was skeptical of how a jacket so light and thin could keep out water effectively, but after a test run in the shower and lots of use in the field, it's doing great! It doubles as a nice windbreaker layer too, and works well for running in the rain in cooler weather. The neck is a little tall for zipping up all the way in light rain, but the extra height helps a lot with heavy rain and wind.

I'm 5'3, 120ish pounds, and the small size fits perfectly with room for layers underneath. My only wish is that there were hand pockets, but for the light weight and packability, this jacket can't be beat.
