The material is to thin, I was worried about warmth and staying dry, but neither have been an issue. I got chairlift grease all over the last pair so I bought them again. These are fitted, if you want a looser fit, size up.
Fabric is not at all durable
As others have said, these run big and very long. After two weeks of minor wear and some cross country skiing, they're not as warm as I had hoped and the material is already fraying/holes are appearing. Disappointing to see material not holding up before they even hit the slopes! Wouldn't recommend based on the material - better to buy more durable pants.
Love the fit of these pants. Nice and snug where you want, but also extremely moveable. I have been able to play around in back country with ease and hit nice low "race tucks" on groomers. The pants were a bit thinner than I expected -- my only reason for 4/5 stars rather than 5/5. I make sure to wear a double base layer when night skiing or on especially cold days (anything below 25 degrees). Excited to try them out for some Spring skiing days as they should transition well.
Super long and chilly, but great otherwise
I love the color of these pants, and adore the waist-cinching velcro. However, as many have said, these are VERY long - making them okay for skiing, but not great for mountaineering. Also they run VERY chilly. When skiing inbounds, one base layer was not enough. Probably fine for touring, but I also didnt size them for two base layers - so be aware of that.
After only 3 times, the pants have marks and are close to have holes.. the material should be tougher. Thanks
Good, but the main material could be tougher
After wearing the pants 3 times, it seems like the main material should be tougher ... I see marks and I am getting close to see holes. The pants are breathable and comfortable but could be made of better material.
Comfortable and warm!
I wear these pants pretty much every day when guiding hikes or skiing and have been so happy with them in the two months I've been using them. The fabric feels nice and stretches well allowing for good movement. My only complaint is that they're pretty long (I'm 5'7" and got the large), which is fine when skiing but they drag a little when walking around in boots or snowshoeing.
Awsome snow pants
Those winter pants are great breathable easy packing lightweight great color also
Warm buns, smooth turns.
After years of backcountry skiing, the arrival of two kids who have now become little rippers means I spend a lot more time on cold lift chairs. I wanted pants that fit well and perform but keep my tush warm on the ride-up. These fit the bill! Only con I have so far is the length-- 32" inseam on an XS?! Luckily we have the awesome Kim at Rugged Thread who shortened them just enough to make them comfy for my 5'1" frame. Fabric is really lightweight and flexible yet sheds weather.
Reliable and Warm
I bought these pants in black to wear with my ski patrol uniform. I own a paid of ski pants already from OR and they fit great, so i ordered the same size. And sure enough, these pants fit like a charm. They are slightly insulated which helps for long periods of time outside in the elements. But have enough vents that when i'm working in them, I don't overheat. Overall, they are a great pair of ski pants.

What size is a large in this pant?
These pants don't have an equivalent numeric size on the size chart as they are meant to be worn with layers underneath.
The size Large has a 35.5" waist, it has a low hip measurement of 49.25", thigh width (two inches from crotch) is 27.25", calf width is 22", and an inseam of 33.5"
Thanks for contacting OR,
i see the size chart for the numbered pant sizes, but these are sold as S/M/L/XL.
Am i missing the conversion for what pant sizes equal S/M/L/XL?
Since our Ski Shell pants were designed to allow some room for movement and to allow layering, it doesn't reflect well with our sizing chart. I have some measurements that may help with sizing.
The waist measurement for the XS is 28.5" and increases 2" for each additional size up. A size Large has a waist measurement of 35.5" and increases 3" for each additional size up.
The low hip measurement (widest part of the pants, around the buttocks) for the XS is 39.25" and increases 2" for each additional size up. A size Large has a low hip measurement of 46.25" and increases 3" for each additional size up.
The inseam measurement for the XS is 31.5" and increase 0.5" for each additional size up. A size Large has an inseam of 33.5" and increases 1" for each additional size up.
Thanks for contacting OR,
Is this item just a shell? Item will used for downhill skiing. Is it warm enough or do I need a under layer?
These pants have Thermore Classic Compact insulation in the lining of the seat (butt) and the knees. Depending on the weather conditions and how hot or cold you get, you may need an under layer.
