RATING AND REVIEWS

Warm and packable

I love this down for cold days transitioning when I'm backcountry skiing, or for hanging around alpine base camp. The jacket is warm, but packs down small, and I love the color!

This jacket is really too narrow at the hips. I own de longer version (parka) and the fit is really different. I was really disapponted when I tried it on because I love the parka Sonata ultra so much.

Nice, warm jacket

A co-worker got this jacket for his wife and she and I are friends. I loved it on her and it was so warm! I moved from a warmer climate to Wyoming, so was in need of a new warmer jacket. So I got this one. I love the pockets, the bright color, and how long the sleeves are! I never have to worry about my wrists being exposed to the elements which is awesome. This jacket is super light and works well for around town, and also as a warm layer for winter sports. I am a little concerned that I can actually see the feathers under the nylon. That and the feathers seem to poke out a lot, not only at the seams, but all over. And I've only had this jacket for two weeks. So I'm concerned about how warm it will be after 6 months of use or longer. TBD

I bought this to put under my Goretex shell. I also own the long version of the Sonata ultra hooded jacket so I figured the fit would be the same. Surprisingly this one is really smaller at the hips, It misses 1 inch to be able to bring the two parts of the zipper together. I'm 5'3" and I weigh 114 pounds. I ordered small just like the longer version which is a tinny bit big for me. I thought it would be the same and that I could put a few layers underneath. Now I will have to send it back.

Warm and cozy

Bought this to replace a really old Sonata hoody that I wore almost every day during the winters in UT/CO for four years. I had an xs in my old Sonata, and bought an xs again. I was worried reading some reviews that said this fits snug, but this seems to fit the same as my old Sonata and still has room to layer. This is really warm and puffy, and I like the teal color. The only thing I worry about is some of the stitching looks like it could snag easily.

Disappointing Down

1

The jacket is stylish and fits well. However, the seams are not staggered so, the wind will go straight through. As advertised as one of OR's heavier jackets, it is more suited for non-northern winters. It would be a medium-light weight jacket for an Edmontonian, who typically backcountry skies and camps in Alberta and British Columbia.

Great jacket so far, sleeves way too long

4

I've only had this jacket about a week, but I've been able to wear it several times and get outside hiking in it in just above freezing temps. This jacket fits great for the most part (I am 5'2, 34D, 125 for reference and ordered a medium) and has room for a layer or two beneath. The jacket is a little snug around the hips and the sleeves are WAY too long for me. I'm short and have short arms, so I'm used to sleeves being too long, but these sleeves are at least 6+ inches too long. I am considering having the sleeves shortened by a local tailor because I love the rest of the jacket so much. I LOVE the fleece-lined hand pockets and fleece-lining around the neck. The weight of the jacket is great for me as I run cold all the time. I would not call this jacket windproof at all, but I was warm while hiking (almost too warm) and still warm when sitting still.

Love!!

5

Love this coat, it does run small so ordered a large (5'10, 155) and fits great!! The sleeve are nice and long. Haven't been able to test it in the Wisconsin winters yet, but I think it going to work perfectly when that weather comes. Highly recommend.

So warm and cozy

4

Love this warm jacket. I have a few insulated layering pieces, which are great when under a hardshell, but not warm enough on their own. I really wanted a very warm jacket for every day wear and for really cold ski days. I'm 5'3 about 130lb and could have gone with a small for shorter sleeves and more fitted look. I chose the medium knowing that I like to wear bullky sweaters and may even bring it ski touring and throw it on over other clothes during transitions. Overall love this jacket and the turquoise color.
