RATING AND REVIEWS

No nonsense

5

Absolutley love this jacket. It is no nonsense. Obviously designed by a trail runner looking to stay a bit dry but not get over heated. It is not great for a down pour or for warmth. It is great for those long runs where the weather is unpredictable (like in the PNW almost always.) I just through in my running pack or strap around my waist. The closure on the stuff sack could be more durable, the Velcro is a little weak. It also seems to run slightly short, so if you are long waisted or wear hip huggers you might consider trying on before buying?? These are minor complaints compared to the value of this jacket. I am a solid size medium in most brands (5'8" 140lbs and the slim fit is otherwise great. I where a thin wool running shirt or tee shirt depending on how cold and I am happy as can be.

Great for cycling

Great for cycling. Except for the rear pocket with the waist straps. Feels uncomfortable on the back when where a back pack.

Obsessed with this jacket

5

Although I have a slew of running jackets - I was looking for something lighter - and a option for "in between" weather/seasons. I am a little obsessed with this jacket - the versatility and pack-a-bility of this jacket, the colour and hood (a hood - YESSSS), have made it a go to jacket for me for weeks. Whether I'm trail running, SUPing, need some sun protection at the beach, out for a walk with the kids - this is a quick layer to add comfort in the late summer/fall cross over season. Love the colour. Love the hood. Love the optional thumb hooks. I was worried about the length in the torso - but after having worn it multiple times a week - I am content. And a real test - I wore it out on run, knowing I'd have to drop a layer after warming up - and the waist belt not only kept the jacket in place, but was surprisingly comfortable whilst doing so. Two big thumbs up!

Stuff it anywhere!

This jacket was awesome for spring skiing. The fabric protected me from the wind and the sun, yet it allowed for maximum breathability. I also love this jacket for multi-pitch rock climbing. The fabric is so lightweight and compressible that I can stuff the jacket in my sports bra in between pitches. The jacket does have a stash pocket as well, to quickly stow away the jacket when out on a trail run.

lightweight and versatile

5

This is my go to lightweight jacket for multi pitch climbing, and mountain running. Windproof, water resistant, and packable. No reason not to bring it. I have been caught in a downpour in this jacket, and while I didn't stay completely dry, I was mostly dry after 20 min of rain. Pretty good considering I mostly consider this a wind shell. Need a lightweight wind shell that works well in a squall too? This is your jacket. Btw, I do love that it becomes a fanny pack, but if its not a feature you like, to make it even lighter you could cut off the elastic straps that make it so.

Great addition to any gear stash for hikers, backpackers, ru

I received a complimentary Tantrum jacket to test and loved it as soon as I put it on. I loved it more as I continued wearing it outdoors this spring/summer! It's incredibly light and packs down super small, which makes it easy to take just about anywhere. The fact that it zips into its own pocket and can be strapped around your waist makes it ideal to have on trail runs. I can also fit my keys in with the jacket, which is awesome! It's as breathable as any jacket I've seen, and helps stop at least some of the wind. It fits true to size (I'm 5'8", 160#, and generally wear a medium in everything), but I couldn't make use of the thumbholes because the sleeves aren't long enough for me to use them without discomfort, which is the only reason I'm not rating this five stars. Totally personal issue for me, it's not a design flaw, because if my arms were an inch shorter, it would be perfect! I tried out the red one, and the color is great too!

perfect lightweight anytime jacket

What great timing on the release of this jacket. I grabbed one last week and have already spent countless hours wearing it. It is super light weight yet wind and water resistant. The hood fits great over or under a bike/ski or climbing helmet. One of my favorite features are the thumb loops to keep the sleeves down while skinning or trail running. When the spring time rain/snow mixture stars falling on your trail run this jacket will keep you moving, yet warm and dry. You will stay dry from the inside and out, because of the incredible breathability. The chest pocket keeps a GPS or some trail nutrition handy. and being able to stuff it away in its own pocket and strap it to your pack or waist when the sun comes out is super handy! All in all a great spring/summer mountain jacket. Cant wait to see what adventures await this year!
