Comments about Men's Floodlight Down Jacket:

I have not been able to use this in cold conditions yet, but here is my initial observations. The medium did not fit... couldn't zip it over my chest. I am not a big guy, nor do I spend my time lifting weights in the gym... by the fit you would think I am a body builder. The down-fill seems a little light, I am used to the puffy down jacket, this seems a little thin. If the opportunity arises to give this another review after experiencing the cold, I will do so.. but for now, not my favorite purchase... I am afraid I might be cold this winter.

          Great for skiing and camping.
The waterproof layer is super thin and makes it perfect for wet weather and long days, because it does not allow the moisture to get in and it sure does not loose it warmth. amazing warmth-weight ratio and super comfy for movement

            Hi, I'm 5ft 11in and 175lbs.
Finally, A Jacket For All Conditions
I have worn the jacket in the rain at 37 F and the pertex shell worked perfect. A 30 MPH wind and 0 F I felt warm and never felt the wind. I stayed warm and dry. The jacket is warm at 0 F as well. The hood fits very well and the draw cord warps around your head for a very good fit. It is easy to see and move in with the hood pulled up.

Awesome product! Very light yet very warm. I am 5'8", got the medium and it's a perfect length with enough room inside for some layering while tailored to fit well. Breathes extremely well while active and repels water throughout. Has my recommendation!!

Seems like great quality and materials

Comments about OR Men's Floodlight Down Jacket:

I got this jacket mostly for low-intensity activities as an outer layer and I am impressed with its warmth, weight (or lack thereof), and seemingly high quality. I am 6'3", 205 pounds and got a Large and it is a little tight on me. It does say that it is a trim fit, so that makes sense, but if I am wearing the jacket, it is tough to put on any midlayers below. Basically it is tight if I wear anything besides a t-shirt with it, so that didn't seem great. I am in the process of exchanging for a larger size. Regardless, I still give it 5 stars because in an XL it would be great.

I've skinned in Teton NP in -25*F with this coat and worn it in nuking snow at Mt. Baker, Washington. If its cold and nasty, this coat keeps you warm and dry. Toss some GoreTex on top and conquer the world.

Comments about OR Men's Floodlight Down Jacket:

This was my favorite jacket but the laminated seems failed on me twice! This caused all the down to sink to the bottom of the jacket. The first time it took about a year, but the second time it only took 2 days, and I only wore the jacket in the car before it failed! As always OR was awesome, and they let me exchange the jacket for another model.

            Great All-around Winter Jacket

Comments about OR Men's Floodlight Down Jacket:

The 2014 version of the Floodlight has been my go to jacket for the last 2 years, and it has performed up to my very high expectations in every way with the exception of the following issue: After approximately 1.5 years of Minnesota winter use, the baffle welds in the back panel no longer hold the down in the designated compartments; the down has largely moved out of the upper back area resulting in a fairly large cold spot. While looking for a new jacket at REI, a very helpful sales staffer pointed out the Outdoor Research Infinite Guarantee and suggested asking the company what my options might be. After one phone call and a follow up email to start the process, I had a new 2016 version of the Floodlight Jacket (the new version apparently addressed the baffle weld failures) in my hands within 10 days; completely free of charge. No hassle, no questions, just send the old jacket back. Extremely high quality response; I am sold on the Outdoor Research brand.

            Disappointed overall

Comments about OR Men's Floodlight Down Jacket:

I think the quality of the jacket is just fine. However, it's really not that warm. Also, it's noisy and crinkly. I like the cut a lot, however, and it fits me very well. However, it just needs way more down. I mean, in spots, it doesn't even feel like there is any down, just the shell and the liner. Bought brand new from OR, and let it fluff out. I really want to like this jacket, but it just doesn't do the job. Maybe in like 30+degree weather it'd be fine, but just running errands in 0-10 degree weather, it don't cut it.
