RATING AND REVIEWS

It fits great!

I was a little nervous about buying something without trying it on at a store first, but it ended up fitting perfectly. It's a great combination of functional and stylish, would recommend!

It fits great!

I was a little nervous to buy the jacket just from the site without trying it on at a store, but it ended up fitting pretty much perfectly! I've also gotten a good amount of compliments on it. It's all together a very fresh and well fitting jacket.

Outdoor steeze for the City

I wanted something to wear for everyday occasions to work and around town that could provide the warmth of a down jacket and have water protection when it rains and doesn't look like I just got back from a camping trip in the backcountry. This jacket was it. Fit: It's more of a tailored fit (maybe call it Eurofit) I would say with some room for light layering underneath. I wore a shirt and sweater underneath and it was fine. I'm 5'6" and 160# and the medium fit was good. The length overall felt good, similar to modern day blazer. The sleeves were way too long for me, luckily the design on the sleeves makes it easy to fold up inside, you could easily have it hemmed and still look good for $10 at an alterations/ dry cleaning place. One thing to get use to is that it snags when you're putting the jacket on (it doesn't slide on like most outdoor jackets that are poly lined), but you'll get use to it. I like the streamline silohuette... it's understated with functionality that makes sense. Performance: The exterior fabric looks like a tweed jacket and provided surprisingly good water repellency. I imagine Nikkwax wash/treatment will be needed in the future. It has fleece lining throughout and was fairly comfortable in low 40° F with t-shirt and light flannel underneath, I think it could easily handle mid-high 30 temps when the hood is used in conjunction with a beanie. I haven't encountered windy conditions yet and I think that might be it's short-coming. Pros: Tailored fit with room some room. Understated style for everyday casual wear. Cozy and comfortable. Rain protection. Good amount of pockets that function well. Cons: Extra long sleeves. Collar and hood combination didn't sit up right and requires adjusting. It's noticeable but not a deal breaker. One knock I have on the items I own from Outdoor Research is the big 'OR' logo on the back upper right shoulder. Not a fan of shouting out logos and this design detail could be better executed.

Great Jacket, Poor Quality Buttons

3

This is a nice stylish jacket that is ok for casual wear. The fit is pretty good, but it tends to bulge out in the chest when you sit down (in a chair or on a bike), which is pretty unsightly for a stylish jacket. Looks great if you're standing or unzip it when you sit though. I wore this jacket about 15-20 times for casual use or while walking the dog and one of the front buttons has already broken - the bottom part of the button ripped out of the jacket at some point when I opened the flap. Not sure if my jacket is an exception, but between the fit and the button breaking with hardly much use, I'm not too impressed with this jacket.

I love taking this jacket on a quick outdoor adventure or into my business casual meeting. It's stylish enough to go with everything I wear but still right at home in the back country. It's a true favorite of mine!

Tight fit! And I mean that in a good way.

I needed a stylish and versatile jacket that performed in wind and light rain/snow but didn't have the appearance of an outback product. This went beyond my expectations in fit and style and performance. I now wear it daily to the office.

Mountain Style and Functionality

5

I was a bit confused on this jacket as it's technical in construction but very casual in style. After wearing it a few times it's now a go to jacket when weather is questionable and I'm going out for the night or running errands. It's the perfect piece to deal with ever changing mountain weather. It's a bit bigger fit in the sleeve which I like as it keeps my hands warm when walking.

Warm and stylish

Got this as an around town jacket to save some mileage on more technical clothing (i.e. down jackets, etc.). It works great for this purpose! And it looks good doing it. I'm 5'10" and this jacket (M) fits me well, except that the sleeves are about an inch too long. No big deal. Also, when seated, the zipper puckers up and makes it look like I've been drinking more beer than I actually have. Again, no big deal. Its a nice looking, warm jacket that stands up well to wind and water. Perfect for walking around town.

Way warmer than I was expecting a shell fleece to be. This windproof and water-resistant jacket is a versatile and nice looking around town jacket that performs above expectations in the wilderness.
