Best NW Winter Pants Ever!

5

These pants really excel in the cold wet weather of the Pacific NW. They are highly water resistant. The best I have ever seen in a soft-shell fabric. They keep me dry hiking in the rain and even bushwhacking through the wet undergrowth. They seem pretty abrasion resistant as they still look brand new after several treks through devil's club and multiple washings. I like the warmth without the bulk of insulation and the lining keeps them from getting clammy. The large vents keep me comfortable over a wide range of temperatures and exertion levels. The high waist makes them a real winner. I hate having my pants pushed down in the back by my backpack. These pants stay comfortably where they belong all day long. They have just the right amount of strech to make reaching for high steps a breeze without getting too loose by the end of the day. These are definitley my new favorite winter adenture pants!

Truely an ice climbing pant!

I was excited to finally have a pant that performs well in cold and wet conditions, and doesn't cause me to overheat on the approach. Good fit around the ankles to prevent catching crampons and reinforced for abrasion. Love the high rise waste to prevent cold draft up the back while wearing a pack.

My new fav winter sport pant

5

Tried these on when looking for a new winter snow pant (winter hiking, skiing, cross-country) and instantly fell for these. The flip-up waist panel was made for me! I'm constantly getting snow in pants, I fall a lot! The waist fit made me feel "tucked in" without feeling tight and the thigh was slim but not tight. Great movement in these! I'm 5'8" and 160 and usually wear a 8/medium.

Love them as much as the Trailbreaker pant.

5

Love these! At first they looked & felt too big in the hips but once I adjusted the waist straps inside the pants it took away the balloon look. I love my trailbreaker pants but now they are sitting in the closet and these are my new go to pants. I love them for bc skiing, skiing and ice climbing. The trailbreaker pants are definitely more flattering but the these pants are a lot warmer. Plus, I love the color- lapis. I'm 5"2 and 118 pds and bought a small. They are a bit too long but with touring boots on they are fine.

Meh

Mediocre pant for the high price. I like the general idea, the fit is dissapointingly loose for something that is supposed to be trim or athletic fit. They seem to be reasonably warm, I have just been avoiding wearing them because they feel sloppy. High waist feature is definitely pretty desirable, too bad about the rest of the cut.

Great design fits small

I love the high waist, the design and everything but the fit. Fits almost a size smaller than other pants, and only goes up to a size large. If you are in a size 12 in other pants and have a large derriere, these will be snug

Favorite pants for a snowy winter!

5

These are my favorite pants for backcountry skiing and ice climbing. Fit is perfectly true to size. On cold days they keep me warm, and allow a base-layer without feeling bulky. The side zips allow for good ventilation when your working hard on the uptrack.

love these pants

had to order a size down from the size chart. Still feels a bit big in some areas but can easily fit warm layers underneath. I've worn these pants for rock and ice climbing. Love them
