RATING AND REVIEWS

I love these pants!

5

I use these pants to do anything from ice climbing to kayaking or just wearing them on a casual day because of comfort and style. These pants fit great and if you have a unique body shape, like small waist and bigger thighs, these are the pants for you. I usually have a problem finding a pant that fits my waist as well as my thighs and these pants do both because of the drawstring in the waist line. Also, they tighten in the ankles so you can have a "jogger" look or if you like a boot cut, they fit for that as well. Great pants all around. Enough room underneath to fit a good base layer of youre going out on the ice or in a colder climate. Stretchy and lightweight yet durable.

Perfect combination of style & comfort for a technical piece

Absolutely love these pants! They fit so great and are really soft and comfortable. The only thing I would note is that I ordered 2 pairs...one with the zip off shorts and one without in the same size. The zip off shorts run a full size bigger, so downsize if ordering that model.

best summer hike pants

5

Perfect pants for hiking in hot humid weather. Rugged and durable even though so lightweight. The only negative thing I can come up with is that they do run a bit small and could be slightly roomier in the hips - I don't have big hips at all, and 5'4" and ~ 120 and a 4 is almost tight. Still a 5 star pant though!

New Favorite Pants.

I spend a few hours a day outside with the dog and these are my new favorite pants. They run a bit larger than other Ferrosi pants I own but are still comfortable. Love the color and the loose fit is great for hot sticky days.

This Fabric!

I don't generally hike in long pants in the summer, but I tried these puppies out and oh boy! They don't breathe quite as much as I would like for the summer, but I intend on wearing the heck out of them in the shoulder season! I really love the stretch and lightweightness of the Ferrosi fabric.

Very Fitted, but great hiking pant

I have worn these pants several times under various conditions and love the versatility. I do have an athletic build and found these pants to be very fitted in the thighs however, not tight because of the stretchy material. They are comfortable to hike in with plenty of stretch and give you a booty even if you don't have one. Overall, true to size in length and waist measurements and a little slim fitting in the legs.

Lovin' em, but they could be tougher

I like the pants a lot. They run slightly snug, but I wouldn't say they're a whole size smaller. I ordered a size 8, which is the same size I have the Cirque pants in. The Ferrosi's stretch allows for a very forgiving fit but I probably still could have used an extra inch in the waist band. I think a size 10 would be too big, though. I don't have this issue with the size 8 Cirque pants. So keep that in mind, if you're a "hippy" gal, these might not work for you. Otherwise, the Ferrosi's seem to be a great late spring/summer/early fall pant for me. The main issue that I have with them is the lack of durability. Don't expect them to last you more than a year. But that being said, they are really comfy and versatile so I'll keep buying them.

My new favorite pants

5

I use these everyday for work. Im a Kayak Instructor in Alaska where the humidity stretches from 50% to 100% daily. I've worn these everyday since I received them in the mail. I absolutely love how they fit, stretchy to fit my thighs and the elastic waste-band tie to tailor my waist. They're breathable, dry almost immediately and are the comfiest pants I own! Will purchase more in different colors! I do wish there was a military green color option. Btw I'm about 5'9 155 pounds, small waist and thicker legs and I think a size 8 is comfortable. Hope this help anyone in doubt.

Overall great pants!

I've worn those while camping and hiking. I absolutely love the colour (I got the mustard yellow ones), and they are so lightweight, very easy to pack. They are ridiculously comfortable, and I cannot believe how perfect the length is. My only issue is, based on the size guide, I thought the size I ordered was going to be a bit tight through the hips, but the pants are actually quite loose everywhere. They have a drawstring waist so the extra room is welcome, but without that I think they would be too big.

Discussions

Hi there: I have two questions. (1) How do the Ferrosi pants do in wet conditions (e.g., hiking in Scotland), and (2) can you roll up the bottoms to make capris?

Kiara

the ferrosi pants are a light softshell, with a DWR coating, and would be a good choice for wet hiking, where rain pants are not required, and they also dry very fast if they do get wet. to create a shorter pant or to draw up the legs there is a draw-cord to synch up the cuff to your desired height.

OR

Is the waist adjustable on this newer style? I don't see an inner drawstring in the photo.

Micheline

the updated ferrosi pants do not have a draw string waist band, for that feature look at the zendo pant or the ferrosi capris

Kassie

How does the drawstring cuff on the women's Ferrosi pant work or stay tight? Can the pant convert to a capri style with the drawstring cuff?

Kelly

There is a spring-loaded cord lock that maintains tension on the cord. You could cinch the drawcord and roll up the cuff for more of a capris style.
