Recently I returned from another trip to one of my favorite climbing areas, Indian Creek. My first trip to this magical place was in 1997, and over the years I've spent a lot of days camping out under the seemingly endless sky and battling my way up cracks of all sizes. A lot has changed in this area since my first trip: parking lots have grown, campsites have been established, I can climb a hand crack, and there are even toilets now (thanks in large part to Outdoor Research’s support). Some changes feel welcomed and some leave me longing for days past. But one thing as present today than ever before is excuses. Not sending? Just choose one of the following reasons. Sure, we've got you covered. This size just doesn’t fit my hands.  My rope isn’t long enough.  I don’t have enough cams.  I don’t have the right shoes.  I’m saving that one for the on-sight.  My tape gloves were too tight.  I didn’t bring the wide gear.  I don’t know how to finger stack.  The route was sandy.  This style of climbing just doesn’t suit me well.
