She’s been working in the field of snow and snow science since 1998, when she started as a ski patroller at Bridger Bowl in Bozeman, MT. As an owner of the American Avalanche Institute, Sarah teaches avalanche courses throughout the West, and she also works as a ski guide in the Tetons during the winter, sharing her love of skiing with clients while wearing a huge smile on her face. Sarah lives with her husband on the west side of the Tetons in a straw bale house they built together; Even seven years after finishing construction, she’s still finding shreds of straw in the pockets of her work pants. When Sarah’s not enjoying the greater Wydaho region, she can be found working as a mountain guide for Alpine Ascents, studying business and decision-making books in an effort to improve the American Avalanche Institute, or perusing the internet for her next good joke.
