The Pro discount varies based on style and product availability. We reserve the right to adjust Pro pricing or revoke Pro benefits at any time.

Pro Program Policies

Please remember to adhere to some of our basic Pro membership rules:

  • This program is for individual use only. You will be removed from the program if you purchase product for friends or family, unless otherwise stated.

  • You MUST stay opted into our marketing emails to receive special Pro discounts, promotions, and to be notified when your account needs to be renewed.

  • This program and your involvement should be kept private. Please do not discuss this program or pricing in public or with Outdoor Research dealers.

  • Pros are allowed to shop with their discount at our Seattle flagship store, but not at any of our retailers.

  • Eligibility for the Pro Program is subject to review after each year of participation or any time therein.

Pro Program FAQ

I'm logged into my Pro account, but don't see my discount. What happened?

Sometimes, when you have been logged into your Pro account for a while, our website doesn’t recognize your session anymore. First, try logging out and back into your account. This should help clear your old session. When you get to the homepage, you should see the Pro logo in the navigation bar and the Pro discount reflected in all products.

If you’ve been a Pro customer for more than a year and not seeing your discount, your account may have expired. If you still qualify for the Pro program, you can submit another Pro application.

I was shopping with my Pro discount, but it disappeared when I got to checkout. What happened?

Sometimes our website platform Shopify recognizes and inserts another email that you've used on other Shopify websites that is not set up as a Pro account. This could also happen if you use Shop Pay at checkout. This is not something that we can control, unfortunately.

To ensure that your Pro discount applies at checkout, make sure that your Pro email is set in the "contact" section at checkout. After setting that, you will have to click the "continue to shipping" button. Your Pro discount will be applied now if your Pro account is active.

How do I contact Pro customer support?

Where is my order?

You can look up the status of your order by logging into your account.

Keep in mind that Pro orders take 3-5 business days to process, and longer during sale periods.

I'm a Canadian Pro. Why can't I purchase Tactical products?

At this time, the Tactical collection is only available in the US.

What documents do I need to supply with my Pro Program application?

If your position requires specific certifications, you will be prompted to upload those with your application. We will accept a paystub or similar proof of work as a substitute. Please blackout any sensitive information, like salary or social security number before the documentation is uploaded. Please do not include IDs with no expiration date.

Can I return items that were purchased through my Pro account?

Pro customers can return gear purchased within 60 days of the purchase date. Pros are responsible for submitting their own returns. For more information, please visit our Returns page.

Can I shop in store with my Pro discount?

Pros can shop with their discount at our Seattle, WA location only. Discount is valid on nonsale Outdoor Research items, not third-party items. The discount is for the Pro customer only, not friends and family. Active Pro email and photo ID must be provided to receive the discount. The Pro discount is not valid at any Outdoor Research retailers.

Can I order online and pick up in store?

Yes, orders can be placed online and picked up at either of our retail stores. Pickup orders may take up to 48 hours to process and will be held for 10 days. Retail store hours can be found here.

Can I purchase a gift for someone else using my Pro account?

No. The Outdoor Research Pro Program is designed for you and your personal use only. We occasionally offer friends and family promotions where Pros can share their benefits, but purchasing for others is not allowed and will result in your removal from the program.

How can I submit photos of myself in Outdoor Research gear?

We love seeing photos of our Pros wearing our gear! If you're interested, please send photos or blog pitches to prosales@outdoorresearch.com

Submitting content is not a requirement of the Pro program. By submitting photos, you give Outdoor Research the right to use them in marketing efforts as needed.

How long do Pro orders take to ship? Is it possible to expedite the shipping process?

Pro orders typically take about 3-5 business days to process prior to shipping out of our warehouse. We do offer a 2-day shipping method within the continental US, but it will still take between 3-5 days to process your order before it ships out from our warehouse. We do not offer expedited shipping options in Canada, and we cannot expedite requests for faster shipping options after an order has been placed or accept requests for expedited order processing in our warehouse. *Orders may take 10-14 days to process during holidays or sale periods. Does my Pro Program account expire?

Yes. Pro accounts are set up for a year-long term and will need to be renewed each year. When it is coming time to renew, you will receive an email from us letting you know that your account is about to expire, followed by renewal instructions. If your account is expired, or expiring soon, please reapply here.

Can I apply for the Pro Program if I work internationally?

Currently, our Pro Program is only open to residents in the United States and Canada. We do not accept international payment at this time.

I’m in the military and am stationed outside the United States. Does Outdoor Research ship to APO addresses?

For United States military members stationed abroad, we do ship to APO addresses from our US warehouse. When you apply for the Pro Program you must include a US, non-APO address.

Does free shipping apply to Pro orders or returns?

Yes. Pros are eligible for free standard shipping on orders over $99. Pros are still responsible for the cost of return shipping.

Do you offer a warranty on items purchased through the Pro Program?

Yes, our Infinite Guarantee® applies to products purchased through the Pro Program. Visit our Warranty page to learn more.

Can I use my Pro account to purchase uniforms for my team/employees?

No. The Outdoor Research Pro Program is designed for you and your personal use only. If your team or employees all qualify for the Pro Program, they may apply for their own individual accounts. For large group orders or to order uniforms, please go through our Group Sales department by emailing groupsales@outdoorresearch.com

Please note: Group Sales orders must include at least 10 total items with a minimum of 5 items in the same style and color.

Can I place a tax-exempt order with my Pro account?

No, our website does not support tax-exempt orders at this time. Tax-exempt orders can be placed through our Group Sales team if the minimum order quantity of 10 total styles and at least 5 items of the same style and color is met. Contact groupsales@outdoorresearch.com

Where can I submit product feedback?

We encourage all Pros to leave product reviews as often as they can. As part of our Pro Program, we trust your expertise to let us know what you love, what could be improved, and how you like to use your favorite pieces of gear. Feedback can be sent to prosales@outdoorresearch.com and we will forward to our product team.

I see at checkout that I am asked to donate to a non-profit, is this required?

Yes, Donating to a charity on every purchase is an integral and required part of the Pro Program. Under no circumstances will the charity donation be waived, demanding the removal of the donation is a violation of Pro rules and may result in the revoking of Pro privileges.

Respect.

Pro customers are expected to be respectful of Outdoor Research employees, especially customer service and retail store staff. Disputing warranty outcomes, disregarding employee-issued directives, or being disrespectful in any sense is a violation of Pro program rules and will result in revoking of Pro privileges.

Pro Program Terms of Use

Participating in this program is a privilege and there are guidelines that must be followed. Please note that as a buyer in this program, you must enter into an agreement between Outdoor Research and you, the Buyer. Once accepted, you the Buyer shall not sell Outdoor Research product to any individual, department, team or unit for a profit. At no time should Outdoor Research products be sold or diverted for resale in any environment whatsoever-including but not limited to Internet, swap meets or flea markets etc. Participation includes membership in our email newsletters and notifications to the buying group on special buying programs and offers. A new sales agreement will need to be submitted with the Buyer's first order of every calendar year. The Buyer agrees to these terms with initial purchase.
