What is your Return Policy?

New, unused Outdoor Research products can be returned for refund by following the steps at the bottom of this page. We don’t accept returns purchased from warehouse or sample sales, donations, or unauthorized stores or websites.

For gear that has been used and has a defect in materials, workmanship, or product failures, please see our Infinite Guarantee.


Website Returns

For new products purchased from Outdoor Research, you’ll need to have original tags attached and provide your receipt to submit a return for refund within 60 days of the purchase date. Scroll down below to start this process.

 ***A note regarding COVID-19 -- We are currently taking extra precautions when receiving and processing goods in our warehouse. With that being said, upon arrival, we will not open or process a return until 5-7 business days later. We understand that this will create a longer wait time but hope that you will understand that during these uncertain times our goal is both the safety of our staff and taking care of you, our customer. Thank you for your understanding.***

 

I have an Outdoor Research Account- How do I return my item(s)?

Step one: Sign in to your Outdoor Research account
Step two: Find the Cust. P.O. # referenced on your packing slip in your order history and click on VIEW ORDER
Step three: Click on RETURN (green link at top of page), fill out the Return Items Information and click SUBMIT
Step four: Read return instructions on next page and click Generate a Return Label (For $6.95 you can print a return label and drop it off at any FedEx, Walgreens – we’ll deduct the $6.95 from the amount of your return credit.) If you do not want to use a return label, follow the next set of instructions to return using a method of your choice .
Step five: Write the Return # generated on the outside of your package.

I checked out as a Guest- How do I return my item(s)?

Step one: Find your PO Number at the top of the packing slip
Step two: Head over to https://www.outdoorresearch.com/sales/guest/form/

Step three:
A. Input your order ID/PO number
B. Input your Billing Last name
C. Select “Find order by” either e-mail or zip code.
D. Input E-mail or Zip code

Step four: Select the green “return” link
Step five:
Select the item(s), size(s), color(s), quantities and reason for return and submit
Step six: Write the Return # generated (ending with an R) on the outside of your package.

I love my OR gear but want to make an exchange - What do I do?

We want to make sure the gear you have is perfect for you. Our exchanges are processed as new orders. Start this process by following the steps to return the item(s), and then place a new order for the size/color you need. This will ensure you get your gear as soon as possible, with the best stock availability.

If your order was placed with a discount code please contact us and we will supply you with a new code to match the discount you originally received. Shipping charges may apply to new orders. Retail store returns

Only products purchased at the Outdoor Research Seattle Store may be returned at the store. For new products, you’ll need to have original tags attached and provide your receipt to submit a return for refund within 60 days of the purchase date. The Outdoor Research Seattle Store is located at 2203 1st Ave South, Seattle WA 98134 and will accept new product returns in-store at any time. Depending on inventory level, you might be able to exchange your item in store.

The Outdoor Research Store will accept items for online returns, as long as you have followed the steps below on our website and provide a Return # with your item.

 

Third party store returns

For new products purchased from other retail partners, we encourage you to return the item to the place of purchase to maximize the return value.

You can start the return process by following the steps below, or call our Customer Service Department at 855-967-8197 M-F 7am to 5pm PST and we’ll be happy to help you. Please note that online credit will be provided in the event we are unable to process your credit card refund. Online credit has no expiration date and is good for purchases in our online store only. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Outdoor Research does not provide shipping labels for returns.
