This year, the first ever set of standards for non-medical face masks and face covers was created by ASTM International. Up until now, standards only existed for face masks used in healthcare settings, like surgical masks and N95 respirators. Following ASTM International’s specific requirements for design, performance, and classification, the new Outdoor Research 3-Layer Face Cover has undergone rigorous tests to certify that it conforms to ASTM F3502-21 guidelines.
