We’ve been building protective equipment since 1981. Now more than ever, we’re responding to the needs of the medical community by manufacturing personal protective equipment for essential workers.

Outdoor Research PPE is certified by the most rigorous health and safety standards, including FDA and NIOSH.

When the pandemic began, we asked ourselves how we could help. That simple question led to a transformation of an entire floor in our Seattle facility into a medical PPE production facility. We are establishing ourselves in the medical device space to serve healthcare personnel during and after this crisis.

We operate out of two U.S. factories, one that shares our corporate headquarters in Seattle, and another in Los Angeles. Being steps away from our production floors allows us to create, test, improve, and distribute protective equipment with the greatest speed and efficiency. Because this gear is tested in the most extreme environments by our military partners, we’re able to leverage the same materials, techniques, and products for the outdoors. Both our Seattle and L.A. factories produce technical apparel and PPE for adventurers, medical staff, armed forces, and everyone else who needs protection outside of their home.
