Backed by Rigorous Testing & Regulatory Processes

Learn more about our testing standards right here.

ASTM

The American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) provides one of the most rigorous and trusted standards of testing for all U.S.-made protective equipment. And since every one of our Face Mask Filters are Made in the U.S.A., they are the body of accreditation that we trust most to uphold our products to the highest protective standards.

FDA

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates medical devices and products with specific claims about implied or implicit medical benefits. The FDA helps Outdoor Research ensure that the surgical masks we create for medical use adhere to all safety and performance standards.

NIOSH

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is part of the CDC and defines the types of personal protective equipment that businesses need to keep their employees and patients healthy. This includes all sorts of protective gear, not just medical or pandemic related, including steel toe boots and safety glasses.

A Legacy of Protection

Outdoor Research was built to protect and prepare. We’ve been creating and distributing protective equipment out of our U.S.-based factories for 40 years. Our roots in domestic manufacturing and building tactical gear let us test, improve, and perfect these processes with the greatest efficiency imaginable. This is how we approach producing our Personal Protective Equipment.
